The wedding is at 4:30 p.m., so she would have to stay in a hotel that night or make the trip back home late that night if she wanted to avoid a hotel stay.
She doesn’t feel comfortable driving when it’s dark. Plus, she and her husband are on a budget because her husband’s job cut his pay.
Her father is aware of how she and her sibling feel about him distancing himself, as well as her cutting off contact with his parents and her and her husband’s financial instability.
