Later on, she recounted what had happened with Eva to one of her friends, and her friend thinks she really went overboard over just a piece of cake.
Her friend doesn’t understand why she wasn’t more sympathetic to Eva’s little sister. She pointed out to her friend it’s not about the cake; it’s bad manners to dig through someone’s fridge and eat something.
She’s left wondering if it was mean of her to have handled things with Eva the way that she did.
