She was extremely put off by their persistence. So, if you’re dressing up as Santa this Christmas, Kennedy is imploring you not to beg a 19-year-old girl to sit on your lap or anything else of that nature.
Several TikTok users agreed that the concept of mall Santas is problematic. Others countered that not all mall Santas were bad and chimed in with some positive personal experiences.
“The first time my mom brought me to a Santa, I bawled my eyes out the entire time, and then he flirted with my mom (it’s on VHS),” wrote one user.
“When my friends and I were like 12, we walked past the mall Santa, and he was practically begging us to sit on his lap after we said no multiple times,” revealed another.
“I don’t think they’re all creeps lol. I knew one guy who was a disabled veteran and was a mall Santa for years – a very sweet and kind man,” shared a third.
“Not always. Our Santa has been around for 20 years, and he’s incredible to our community,” commented someone else.
