However, her sister overslept and missed two of the interviews, and she flaked on the third interview on purpose because she wasn’t a fan of what the work hours would have been.
“My husband is doing well, but one of the long-lasting side effects is eating. It’s painful for him, and he said everything tastes like battery acid. Every meal is a struggle for him,” she explained.
Through trial and error, they learned that chocolate milk tastes great for him, so they always have chocolate milk in their fridge.
When her husband went through cancer treatment, he experienced weight loss, and drinking chocolate milk has been beneficial for gaining weight back.
A couple of nights ago, she and her husband made dinner, and he was going to have some chocolate milk with his meal because drinking it also aids in eating more food.
However, when they opened the fridge, they realized the chocolate milk was missing.
“I asked my sister if she drank it, and she said yes. She said she was going to replace it before dinner and ‘forgot’ because she was ‘struggling.’ I really don’t mean to downplay her mental health, but I told her that was not an excuse,” she shared.
Then, she requested for her sister to go to the grocery store, which would only take about 10 or 15 minutes to arrive at the store, buy the milk, along with a couple of other items they needed, and come back.
But her sister refused, claiming that this was too much to ask of her. After that, her sister left and went to her bedroom.
This was the last straw, and she told her sister that she now had until New Year’s to secure new housing.
She continued, saying that it didn’t matter to her whether she went to their parents’ house, to stay with a friend, or to a homeless shelter.
