Recently, he was invited to his girlfriend’s dad’s house for dinner, and the topic came up about different companies in their country.
His girlfriend’s dad looked at him and made a remark about how his girlfriend used to date this big-deal guy from a major corporation.
Then, his girlfriend’s sister said he didn’t need to know that about his girlfriend. His girlfriend’s dad remarked that it was good for him to be aware of.
This really made him so upset, and on top of all the comments his girlfriend’s dad has made to him in the past, he can’t help but feel dejected.
“I take great pride in who I am and where I come from, but I feel that there is some resentment there because I’m not a millionaire like them,” he said.
“My girlfriend has never made any comments, and I know she’s not to blame for her father’s attitude, but I’m starting to feel insecure and tired of being in this relationship because of it. She is very close to her father, and he is very present in our lives, so I can’t escape from this.”
