In response, she told her that she and her boyfriend would definitely be able to make it.
Her sister booked a reservation and paid for some of their family members. She sent her a link with information about the hotel.
When she opened the link, she saw that it said dogs weren’t allowed after all, so she reached out to her sister and asked her if she was certain that the hotel was pet-friendly.
“I sent her a screenshot of the part of the link where it said they weren’t. She said, ‘I’m sure the owner of the place won’t say no to us paying him a lot of money just because of a dog,'” she explained.
After letting her boyfriend know that the hotel may not allow pets, he told her that they should reach out to the hotel owner and find out what their pet policy was.
When she texted the hotel owner on WhatsApp, he let her know that dogs weren’t allowed under any circumstances.
Then, she sent a screenshot of her conversation with the hotel owner to her sister, adding that she and her boyfriend wouldn’t be able to stay at the hotel since they couldn’t bring Noah with them.
“She got angry at me, yelling that we had to pay our part because she can’t pay for what we were meant to pay,” she shared.
Disagreeing, she said that because she and her boyfriend wouldn’t be staying at the hotel, they didn’t need to pay their portion of the reservation.
Her sister told her that it was her and her boyfriend’s responsibility to check the hotel’s pet policy before agreeing to stay there, and they needed to figure out a solution so that they could still stay at the hotel during Christmas.
She argued back that her sister had purposely lied in the first place about dogs being allowed, and she doubled down on her refusal to pay her part of the hotel reservation.
