This woman is currently in the third trimester of her pregnancy, and she’s having twins.

Ever since she and her husband broke the news to her in-laws, her mother-in-law has been pleading with them to allow her to be in the delivery room for the birth.

Her mother-in-law hasn’t had the chance to be in the delivery room for the birth of any of her other grandchildren.

While twins are common within her family, they aren’t in her husband’s family.

According to her mother-in-law, she should be allowed in the delivery room rather than her own mother.

Despite her and her husband repeatedly shooting down the idea, she continues to ask over and over, every time acting as if she accepts their decision to not allow her to be there.

“My mother-in-law cornered me and told me she bought a new phone so that I can call her when I’m in labor. I told her that was nice, but I won’t be doing that, and she’ll meet the twins when they’re six weeks, like everyone else. My mother-in-law said, ‘I’m not like everyone else,'” she said.

Her mother-in-law continued, saying that no one else in the family put a huge amount of money in a trust for the twins like she did or offered to fund the tuition for the twins to attend private school.

However, she and her husband never requested that her mother-in-law do any of this. They are financially stable enough to provide for their twins without financial help from her mother-in-law.

“She then told me if she’s not in the delivery room, then we’re not getting a cent from her. Finally (because of my crazy hormones and her audacity), I snapped at her and told her we don’t need her money, and she’s twisted if she thinks we’ll let her do what she wants because she has money,” she explained.

She also pointed out to her mother-in-law that she needed to stay within her role as a grandmother and once again told her that under no circumstances would she be allowing her in the delivery room.

Then, she said that if she tried to come into the room even though she wasn’t granted permission, she would make sure a midwife kicked her out of the room and escorted her out of the hospital.

After that, she told her mother-in-law that no matter how many hideous bibs she purchased, it would never make her the mother of the twins.

“I also told her she’s not in control of how I give birth, I don’t care what she thinks, and that an epidural will be entering my body. Since I made the mistake of telling her my birth plan, she’s sent me fear-mongering Facebook posts about the dangers of epidurals. This is my first pregnancy, and knowing my pain tolerance, I know gas isn’t going to be enough,” she shared.

From there, she found her husband, grabbed him by the arm, and they left the dinner. Later, they found out that after they left, her mother-in-law walked into the living room to join the rest of the family, and she was crying.

Apparently, her mother-in-law told her family that all she’d done was nicely request to be in the delivery room for the birth of the twins and that, in response, she aggressively screamed at her.

Her mother-in-law claimed that she thought she was going to be physically assaulted during this interaction.

When she explained the truth of what happened to the rest of her in-laws, they hinted that she had been a jerk. They suggested that she should just allow her mother-in-law to be in the delivery room in order to keep the peace.

What advice would you give her?
