He Finally Found Out Who His Father Was After Receiving A Call That His Dad Was Dying Of Cancer, And Now He’s Trying To Find His Half-Siblings

The gift turned out to be a mask from the hotel gift shop. Since the mask seemed like such an impersonal gift, the assistant advised Ed’s father to take off his lucky golf bracelet to give to him. Ed also received a signed hotel coaster, a check, and a promise to see his father again tomorrow.

The next day, Ed’s mom told him that his dad’s wife had canceled the check he wrote to him and that his dad couldn’t make it because he was too busy with a business golf meeting.

After that, Ed never saw his dad again. Right before his junior year of high school, he traveled to Korea to attend his funeral. While they were in town for the funeral, Ed’s mom managed to make an appointment with his paternal grandmother.

When they went to her house to meet her, his grandmother wouldn’t look at his mother once, and she didn’t say more than one word to Ed the whole time.

Now, Ed is an adult, and last year, he told his mom that he wanted to find his four half-siblings. She dropped the news that she had taken the names of his half-siblings from the family registry and hid a copy of them in his room among his important documents.

She also revealed that his dad had not been caught up in a golf game that second day, and he was, in fact, forbidden by his wife to see Ed again.

When Ed mentioned how upset he was that his grandmother hadn’t acknowledged his existence during their one meeting, his mom explained that his grandmother had told her that she loved him, but she couldn’t speak to him because she had to stand in solidarity with her son’s wife’s family.

Ed is currently searching for his half-siblings, starting with his oldest half-sister. The only information he knows about her is her name, birthday, and the place where she grew up. He isn’t sure if she is aware of his existence or if she even wants anything to do with him, but he’s enlisting the help of TikTok with his search.

Hopefully, Ed will be able to get to know his family one day soon.
