Being A Wedding Guest Isn’t Cheap: Here’s How To Cut Budget Corners And Save While Still Being A Stellar Attendee

Are you on a really tight budget and can’t afford anything on the registry? Get clever with your gift by offering your skills and helping out with wedding preparations. If you’re good at sewing, volunteer to do some alterations. If you have excellent handwriting, you can ask to make any signs. The bride and groom will value your services and the time you put in for their wedding. Plus, both parties get to save some money.

Save Credit Card Points For Expenses

Lots of credit cards have a type of rewards currency, whether it’s points or cash back, that can be earned every time a credit card is used for spending. So, before you start attending weddings, swipe your credit card every time you buy groceries, fill up on gas, and pay bills. You will accumulate points that you can save and then use for wedding-related expenses like gifts or flights.

Know When To Say No To Attending

If you said yes to the wedding but simply do not have the funds to attend the other events, such as the bridal shower or a celebratory dinner, it’s okay to turn them down. Be honest with the couple who invited you. They’ll understand why you can’t make it and will only want what’s best for you!
