“Mind you, I’ve cared for that car as if it were my child,” she added.
“I need it to get to work, and I literally cannot afford to have it totaled for work reasons.”
But while that might sound reasonable, given everything that’s happened, her mom and sister don’t understand her perspective. Instead, they’re actually angry with her, claiming that she is painting her sister in a negative light by “just assuming” that her sister will get into another accident.
On top of that, her mom believes that her sister has obviously “learned her lesson.” Quite frankly, though, she believes that it might be for the best if her sister lost her license.
“This time, my sister crashed into a car that she didn’t notice. But we are living next to a school, and I’m seriously concerned what else she might not ‘notice,'” she explained.
Still, she realizes that’s a completely separate concern, and right now, the issue at hand is that she simply doesn’t want her sister driving her car.
But with both her mom and sister now upset with her, she can’t help but wonder if refusing to let her sister use her car is really a jerky thing to do.
Does it sound like her sister should even be driving after the two accidents? Can you understand why she doesn’t want to put her car at risk? What would you do in this situation?
