But then, his aunt confronted him and asked why he would split the bill because she thought he was paying for them. That’s when he realized his aunt brought her kids to dinner for a free meal instead of celebrating his sister.
His dad began getting angry at him, asking him why he would “offer to pay” and then not follow through, even though he never said anything about paying for his aunt and cousins.
“I ended up asking the waitress how much it would be because I didn’t want to ruin the mood and my little sister’s accomplishment,” he recalled.
“The bill came out to be about $557.87. Excluding what me and my family ate, it would be about $243.68. I outright refused to pay for her and her kids’ meals.”
His dad ended up paying his aunt’s portion of the bill on his credit card and has been very angry with him since that night. However, he still doesn’t think he did anything wrong, as he never wanted his aunt or cousins at their dinner in the first place.
