Want To Have A “Glow Up” Without The Major Price Tag? Here Are Some Cheap Self-Care Tips That Can Provide Makeover-Worthy Results Without Breaking The Bank
Do you ever get to a certain point after the summer when you feel like you need a “glow up?”
Many people assume that to have a glow-up and get a bit of a makeover, you must spend a ton of money on products and salon trips. But that’s not the case!
TikTok creator Isabelle Eacrett (@isabelleeacrett) has given us some great tips on achieving a glow-up without breaking the bank!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Isabelle became inspired to take better care of herself and prioritize self-care. Eventually, she learned how to do it without spending a ton of money.
First, Isabelle mentions using whitening strips for your teeth.
“I used to have really yellow teeth, and that used to be my biggest insecurity,” explains Isabelle.
“And that’s, like, the first thing people notice.”
Instead of paying for an expensive teeth whitening treatment, Isabelle routinely used the Target brand up & up deluxe whitening strips and claims they work really well.
Over time, Isabelle has had a massive skin transformation. While she still has her struggles with acne, her face has cleared up significantly after making some changes to her skincare routine.
First, she started by finding some things in her diet that made her break out. She realized she was eating a lot of foods with whey protein in them, like protein bars and shakes. When she cut it out, her skin got a lot better.
Regarding products, Isabelle found that using a basic cleanser and moisturizer was the best for her skin, unlike super fancy products.
“I’ve bought expensive moisturizers, expensive face washes, and they never did anything for my skin,” says Isabelle.
She’s a big fan of the Cerave brand, which is super accessible and found in most drug stores. Isabelle also says that wearing sunscreen on your face every day is imperative!
Isabelle’s other glow-up tips are great, as they’re totally free.
Isabelle mentions that she saw a major difference in how she looked when she started improving her posture and breathing. Isabelle tries to mostly breathe out of her nose, as it often changes the appearance of her face.
Another tip Isabelle has for making your jawline and face shape look more defined is fixing your tongue posture. As strange as it sounds, letting your tongue rest on the roof of your mouth instead of low on the floor of your mouth will not only make your face seem a bit brighter but practicing this posture can help you breathe and sleep more easily.
Finally, going through a glow-up is all about finding your self-confidence. For some of us, self-confidence comes and goes, but Isabelle explains that it’s an essential part of glowing up and feeling your best.
“You have to find what you like about yourself, and you have to really focus on that,” explains Isabelle.
“People like confident people because they’re usually nicer.”
Of course, it’s not easy for everyone to suddenly start feeling confident and loving themselves right away, which Isabelle acknowledges.
“Loving yourself is a lot easier said than done,” she says.
“Something that helps me is just constantly affirming myself and remembering the things that I’m proud about. If you have this constant cycle in your head that you’re not good enough, you are never going to do things to change.”
While some people see having a glow-up as an opportunity to get some fancy nails or buy an expensive skin product, don’t forget that it really is all about appreciating what makes you feel good both inside and out.
Now get out there and glow!
@isabelleeacrett Def going to make a few parts to this because there are so many things that have changed my appearance. Most important thing is to love yourself tho!! Confidence is everything. #glowup #glowuptips #changeyourappearance #bamarush #bama #bamarushdocumentary #greenscreen #VikingRise
