Next, Kate started complaining about her hand soap, expensive lotions, and body washes. So, her roommate actually threw all of those away, too, along with her old candles and even her lightly-scented cleaning supplies.
At that point, she told her roommate to tell her about any issues instead of just going and tossing items away without her knowing– which is not okay. Kate did apologize after she said that, but her roommate still pointed out how “no scents” in the house means “no scents.”
“But I told her that I didn’t realize dishwasher tablets even had a scent. Kate said that sounded very back-handed and petty,” she revealed.
This situation finally came to a head just yesterday, too. It all started when she decided to bake some cinnamon rolls in the oven, and Kate came downstairs yelling about how she couldn’t “handle” the smell.
Plus, Kate asked her not to cook anything like that again and even gave her a lengthy list of other foods that she is now banned from cooking in her own home!
At that point, she had finally had enough of her roommate’s demands and accused Kate of acting like a lunatic. In her eyes, the demands were going far beyond simple living accommodations.
“So I told her I suggest Kate either learns to deal with it or finds somewhere else to live because this is crazy,” she explained.
Well, Kate didn’t understand her perspective and ended up freaking out– accusing her of discriminating, which is illegal, and threatening to sue.
Still, she didn’t back down and told Kate that she was just being a control freak.
“And I am not going to be a doormat for it,” she added.
She also claimed that if Kate wanted to pursue legal action, then she would be more than happy to bring all of the receipts for her thrown-out items to court.
