In his view, she essentially agreed to babysit by not giving a definitive answer against it. Later, he accused her of causing this chaos purposefully since she had the option of bringing the children over to their neighbor Jennifer’s house.
However, she was uneasy at the idea of leaving the children with another neighbor, and she believed that dropping the children off for a weekend with an older woman completely unannounced was rude. She would have felt horrible doing that.
But in her husband’s opinion, if she’d left the children with Jennifer, it wouldn’t have been her problem anymore–it would have been Jennifer’s and the children’s mother’s issue to sort out.
Her husband added that while the children were with her, they were her responsibility, and whatever happened to them while they were with her would have been on her.
Plus, he shared stories of things that happened to him and others in the foster care system. After their fight, she couldn’t sleep.
The following morning, her husband didn’t say a word to her before he left to go to work. Now, she wonders if she should contact Children’s Services and express that she was making too big of a deal of the situation and that it was just a miscommunication.
She also debated on whether she should do something for the children to get them out of Children’s Services to make things better for them.
