I love that Dawna breaks everything down in an easy-to-follow way, from the actual recipes themselves to all the steps you need to follow for planning gatherings at your home. She also offers up her tips for being the best hostess you can be, including etiquette you probably never thought about.
She gives you a checklist of important things to have on hand if your guests are going to stay overnight, she teaches you how to throw together what she calls “SOS Dinners” for when you need to pull something off in a pinch, and she illustrates how to set your table in an elegant way. Dawna even provides you with a list of long-lasting flowers to include in arrangements and a guide to pairing different wines with your dishes.
Dawna was born in Seoul, South Korea, but she later moved to Australia, and then the United States, and her unique recipes truly reflect her global experiences. I especially adored Dawna’s recipes for Sushi Tacos, Salt Plank Lobster Tails, and Beef Tenderloin.
Entertaining doesn’t have to be overwhelming or difficult, and Dawna’s book truly embodies this.
