The argument escalated, and he said to Sam that he was the one who’d been paying for everything throughout their time in Japan so far. He’s been paying the highway tolls, and for parking around the city they were staying in. He also bought their groceries and paid for doing laundry at the laundromat.
After that, Sam said that none of that was his problem.
For the rest of the trip, they didn’t speak much, and he didn’t even know how to handle the situation. They finished setting up their business and then flew back home.
He was able to calm down and process everything once he was home. Even though he wasn’t as heated anymore as he’d been in Japan, he was obviously still frustrated with Sam’s behavior. As time went on, he felt like he had put everything behind him.
“Until I saw that he got our dad to put his insurance on his car. I lost it. I told my dad everything that happened in Japan and how he wouldn’t spend a dime on anything. My dad obviously was upset and told me we didn’t need him and decided to cut him off,” he shared.
Sam was so upset about being cut out of the family business, telling them that they didn’t care about him. He added that he’s not to blame for not having a lot of money.
So, he and his father moved forward with starting their business without Sam. In his view, this was the best decision from a financial standpoint because he couldn’t understand how Sam would be able to contribute to running a business when he’s so financially irresponsible on his own.
