And he just cannot understand that, mainly because his girlfriend still wants to get married and have kids. He thinks that, for that to happen, her priorities would have to be different.
“Because of this, I don’t see myself marrying her if her cat comes before me,” he admitted.
Just the other day, while they were watching a TV show, the topic of parents also came up. Then, when his girlfriend claimed that partners should put each other before their parents when in a relationship, he decided to push back.
“I told her no. Why would I put her above my mom when she doesn’t even put me above her cat?” he vented.
His girlfriend didn’t see it that way, though, and got really angry at him. She even accused him of not knowing the true meaning of relationships.
So now, ever since their fight, he’s been left wondering whether telling his girlfriend that his mom comes before her was really a jerky thing to do.
