She figures that they both could continue to live their own separate lives while still being married. However, recently it seems like Rome has become more nosy about her past and her life, and it’s starting to make her super uncomfortable.
On his laptop, she discovered some of her childhood and young adulthood photos and found out that her father had sent them to Rome.
She told her parents not to do that again without her knowledge and told Rome to ask her for things directly instead of through her parents.
“However, my parents have still been sending stuff to Rome without telling me at all. Most recently, he printed out a copy of my master’s thesis. I asked him where he got it, and he said my dad,” she said.
Upset with her father that he went against her wishes, she told her parents to stop letting Rome have access to her stuff without her permission, or she will stop sending them their retirement “fun” money.
This ultimatum caused her dad to become super angry with her, and while her parents couldn’t believe her behavior, some of her friends were at least on her side.
Do you think that she was right to make this ultimatum? What do you think she should do in her position?
