She Met A Guy While Stopped At A Traffic Light, And This Truly Is A Modern Love Story For You
Sometimes the best romances can unexpectedly come out of nowhere. That’s the case for TikToker, @rebeccaaaallen, who met a man while in her car at a traffic light.
Nobody would expect to ever meet someone in this way. It’s not the conventional dating method today–it’s certainly no Hinge or office party.
But to her surprise, Rebecca Allen found a potential date when she was in her car.
“I was dancing in my car at traffic lights, and there was a car parked up next to the firework shop,” she explains. “And the guy in the car beeped at me.”
Her dancing had an effect on him because he decided that seeing that alone was enough to ask a stranger on a date.
“He was like, ‘Do you want to go for a drink?'” she said. “And then he was like, ‘Can I have your number?'”
She became flustered by how quickly everything developed and instead shouted out the window of her car what her Instagram handle was. She didn’t give him her number, which she instantly regretted.
“Rebecca! You could have just…said yes, or pulled over!” she told herself. “He was cute! What’s wrong with you?!”
But despite her worries, he still was interested.

“He added me on Instagram!” she said in a Part II of her video. “And he messaged me! And I’ve messaged him back!”
After believing that she had messed up her chances at her own fairy-tale romance, she was in total shock that he still pursued her.
Although she doesn’t drink, she ended up telling him that she would go out with him. But her fairy tale came to a crashing halt when they started chatting on Instagram.
“The date was all planned for 7 pm on Monday,” she told viewers. “And I just checked in a couple of hours before to make sure it was all go ahead.”
But she wouldn’t be going on a date with him after all because he canceled the day of. He proceeded to reach out again months later, but to her disappointment, only to ask her to sleep with him.
Her viewers too were upset by the outcome of the story and the role he played in it.
“Omg, that had so much potential why did he have to ruin it!!!,” one commenter wrote.
Another was more enraged, writing, “NOOOOOOOOO run him over now.”
But Rebecca came out on top in the end, even if slightly saddened by the entire situation.
“Not quite sure what part of our meet-cute involved me saying I wanted a one-night-stand, but hey, that’s men for you,” she said.
