She met up with him at his apartment, and they waited for the Uber to arrive. When it showed up, Chelsea saw that it was an Uber Black, so her hopes for the evening remained high.
But as they pulled up to the event, Chelsea was immediately hit with a wave of disappointment. They had arrived at the Teen Choice Awards hosted by none other than JoJo Siwa.
The only thing that got Chelsea out of the car was the possibility that he knew other celebrities that they could go party backstage with. However, he made a beeline toward the nosebleed section of the stadium.
“Probably would’ve been $200 to be in the front row at that show. Wouldn’t be surprised if our tickets were free,” she noted.
The most humiliating part of the whole situation wasn’t that Chelsea would have to go home and explain to her friends that the big, romantic date she had been bragging about all week was actually a children’s event.
Instead, it was the fact that she was wildly overdressed. She wore designer stiletto heels and was surrounded by kids and parents wearing jeans and t-shirts. Chelsea pointed out that even the celebrities earning awards were dressed more casually than her.
“I couldn’t even pretend I was like a celebrity or a special guest because our seats were so high up in the back. We did eat at Mr. Chow after, which was like a little redeeming but probably worst date of my life,” she concluded.
