“It seems like she’s insinuating that I’m going to have a meltdown and am jealous of the ex,” she said.
“She’s even gone as far as to say that the ex couldn’t care less about my boyfriend. I understand that she means well, so I’ve been trying to remain open-minded since this is only temporary.”
However, the other night, her boyfriend’s mom had too much to drink while her boyfriend wasn’t there and went off on a tangent about how there’s “no reason” she and her boyfriend’s ex can’t both be treated as “part of the family.”
These comments made her feel like she was being degraded, and she had to bite her tongue from saying something snappy to her boyfriend’s mom. Although his mom genuinely may not realize she’s blowing things out of proportion, she still hasn’t stopped bringing it up.
“My boyfriend is very supportive of my position and has done everything he can do to help his mom understand that she makes things worse when she says these things,” she added.
She’s getting really tired of her boyfriend’s mom causing drama when all she wants is to avoid confrontation with his ex. Now, she’s unsure how to get her to stop bringing it up.
