Anyway, as time went on, it became clearer and clearer that her boyfriend and mom were constantly talking– and about much deeper things than she was ever let in on.
For instance, she once asked her boyfriend if he was doing okay, and he said yes. Yet, about 10 minutes later, her mom approached her and claimed she needed to talk to her boyfriend because he was seriously down.
So, she did ask her boyfriend again, but he just reassured her he was fine. Then, her mom revealed their text messages, and she watched as her boyfriend poured his feelings out to her mom; meanwhile, he was just texting her simple things and calling her “baby.”
This pushed her to ask her boyfriend why he was so open with her mom. But his only reasoning was that his mom was an adult, and he felt like he could trust her.
Still, she started to just push her feelings aside because she honestly thought she was crazy, just like her boyfriend and mom were claiming.
One day, however, it seemed like her dad was also starting to catch on to her boyfriend and mom’s weird relationship.
It all began after her mom fell asleep on the couch while her boyfriend was over. After he eventually left, her dad actually blew up and claimed that her boyfriend had been “dreamily” watching her mom sleep.
“It started to become a big thing, and everyone on my mom’s side thought there was something going on because of my dad and how close they [her boyfriend and mom] were,” she recalled.
“My parents would fight all the time over it. I just kept my mouth shut.”
Another time, she and her boyfriend went on a road trip vacation with her parents, and things got super weird in the car. At one point, the song “Peacock” by Katy Perry came on the radio, and her mom sent her boyfriend a bizarre text that read, “Are you brave enough to let me see your peacock?”
Apparently, her boyfriend just laughed and whispered, “Someone’s happy.” Still, at the time, she just brushed that whole incident off!
