After signing up for her classes, her mom was curious about what she decided to take and freaked out when she saw that all of the classes were online. Her mom angrily tried to tell her that she should take half in-person and half online classes to spend time with her peers and socialize.
However, she believes her mom doesn’t understand that when she works five or six days a week, she is working with peers.
“I don’t think there ever is a minute when I’m working I’m not socializing,” she explained.
“I talk to customers and coworkers all day long.”
Her mom hasn’t let go of her anger and told her that she stopped working as much two years ago so that she’d be able to receive better financial aid for college, which she thinks is a lie. She’s convinced that her mom simply does not want to work and that if she did truly care about her education, she wouldn’t have made her responsible for most of the household bills right out of high school.
Should she feel bad for only signing up for online classes, or should she do what is most convenient for herself?
