Still, his girlfriend could not understand why he wanted to do that and kept pressuring him to come clean about why he didn’t want his coworkers at her place.
So, eventually, he finally spilled the beans and told his girlfriend that her home decor was strange and not what most grown women would have in their house. Plus, he revealed how her insect wall had previously terrified the one and only coworker he ever invited over.
His girlfriend did get pretty angry after he said all of that. Then, she pointed out how her apartment was her own space– not his. So, if those decor items bring her joy, then so be it.
His girlfriend also claimed that the reason her apartment is decorated that way is because she is an adult woman. Still, while he loves his girlfriend and thinks it’s totally okay to have different interests, he doesn’t agree with her perspective.
“Does an adult really need to decorate with them [her interests] besides a few things here and there?” he vented.
Finally, aside from his own opinion, he’s been left wondering whether admitting that his girlfriend’s home decor was the reason he did not want to host a work gathering made him a jerk or not.
