Become More Aware Of You Surroundings
One of the best things that you can do when trying to become more present at the moment is to take a look around you.
If you’re a pretty anxious person, being conscious of your surroundings helps your mind to focus on what’s right in front of you rather than worrying about what you’re going to say to your coworker during lunch on Thursday.
Switch up your scenery if you’re able to. A great way to become more grounded is to surround yourself with nature and do something that is called forest bathing.
While admiring the plants and animals that may be around you, you can also use this time to focus on your breathing, which may have gotten a little more shallow if you have been feeling stressed.
Engage In A Hobby You Love
A great way to be in the moment is to use that time to partake in a hobby or activity that you love. Going for a run, reading a new mystery novel, or starting a new art project are all great ways to redirect our minds toward something positive.
You can always ask a friend to join you as well! Engaging in an activity or conversation with a friend is a great way to take our mind off of anything else that may be crowding our headspace.
Remember, it is important to make time for yourself and your well-being. Work towards acceptance of anything that may be stressing you, and think about how you want to spend the moment at hand.
