Her boyfriend sent her updates on how the cats were doing through texts and calls while she was gone, and everything seemed fine.
Oddly, her boyfriend didn’t complain once about Badger’s behavior. When she returned home, she noticed something strange about Badger.
“I went to greet my boyfriend and cats,” she remembered. “It was rather late when I got back, so he was sleeping on the couch, and to my shock, ‘Badger’ was lying in his lap. While I thought nothing about it at first, over the next few days, I realized this couldn’t be my Badger.”
How could a cat that would scratch her boyfriend in the middle of the night suddenly be snuggled up in his lap?
Things got stranger when she noticed that her other cat, Baxter, was suddenly super skittish around his brother. Before she left, Baxter and Badger would play together all the time. Badger is suddenly acting differently around her, too, even though he used to always love to cuddle with her.
She also noticed that Badger looked a lot bigger, like he had gained some extra weight he didn’t have before she left. Now, she’s starting to believe her boyfriend replaced Badger with a look-alike cat, but she’s unsure how to prove it.
She and her boyfriend got into an argument as she cried about Badger. He called her insane and paranoid.
Do you think her boyfriend might’ve replaced her cat?
