His wife also claims that one day, their girls will need to learn that you cannot always win in life. So, she thinks pageantry is teaching their kids humility.
He, on the other hand, believes there are much better ways to teach their daughters the same lessons.
What really pushed him over the edge, though, was when he “kind of eavesdropped” on his wife while she was practicing with their eldest daughter recently.
Apparently, his daughter did not want to practice anymore, so his wife actually tried to bribe his daughter with $100 if she kept practicing.
Of course, his daughter ended up taking the money. But he definitely was not okay with his wife using money to influence their kids like that.
So, he later confronted his wife about what happened, but she actually found no issue with the bribery.
In fact, his wife claimed that he just did not understand the situation and the money was only to motivate their daughter.
And at that point, he kind of lost it.
“I accused my wife of living vicariously through our daughters and said that it’s getting out of hand now,” he revealed.
Ever since he shared his true feelings a few days ago, though, his wife has been giving him the cold shoulder. And now, he is actually beginning to feel bad for coming down on her.
“Maye, I don’t understand it, and maybe I am being too much of a dad,” he admitted.
