If you’ve ever had to get up and give a toast at a wedding, I’m sure you agonized over what to say.
Maybe it took you months to plan out the perfect words for that special day, but this best man took his speech and basically threw it out the window.
He stood up and told the brutally honest truth about the bridezilla his best friend was marrying…in front of all the wedding guests.
He started out by explaining that he’s 30-years-old and he recently purchased a house with his wife. On top of that, his wife is currently pregnant and their son is due in 4 months.
He was very upfront with his best friend who was getting married, and he explained that he really doesn’t have a lot to spend being the best man in his wedding due to buying the house and having a baby on the way.
He laid out the money to rent his tux for the wedding, he paid to go on the bachelor trip to Maine, and he even covered the cost of his food and his wife’s food for the rehearsal dinner.
He also had decided to give them $300 in cash as a wedding gift, but after what happened leading up to the wedding, he never bothered giving it to the bride and groom.
His best friend’s bride-to-be would text him non-stop every single day with several updates. At first, he was alright with it, but things got increasingly out of hand.
He did his best to reply back to her, but if he didn’t reply once daily, she would have his best friend call him to follow up.

He said that between his full-time career and renovating several rooms in the house he bought with his wife, he had his hands full and couldn’t be there to reply to every single text as soon as they came in.
His best friend’s bride-to-be texted him to say he needed to tell his wife to say nothing about being pregnant while at the wedding. She insisted all the attention had to be on her and not his pregnant wife.
This bridezilla then sent him another text saying she would not pay for his wife to have any special foods at the wedding, which confused him because they never asked for that.
She sent more texts, accusing him of not helping his best friend to the level he should be. She demanded that he help out with the wedding favors, the wedding programs, and the seating chart.
She demanded he also had to help write out all the thank you notes when the wedding was over.
In another text, she told him he was not a real best man unless he was going to foot the bill for the bar. He was perplexed about what that really meant.
He was also required to give his speech to her before the wedding so she could give it her seal of approval. She thought the speech should focus on her as well and not just his best friend.
“She told me to make up things if I had to,” he wrote. “I was also NOT allowed to include anyone but the two of them and no inside jokes or stories about my buddy that didn’t include her.”
“Her last text said to tell my wife to keep it together and not make a pregnancy scene during the wedding.”
“Also, she wanted her to choose a dress that downplayed her pregnancy as much as possible.”
He was so frustrated by everything his best friend’s bride-to-be was doing that he asked his best friend to please “reason with her.”
His best friend replied that he needed to just suck it up because it was her special day. He also requested to have a break on this one “because he’d be dealing with her nonsense for the rest of his life.”
Although he still was upset, he was able to remain calm. That all changed, though, on the actual day of the wedding.
“The day of, all the bride and my buddy do is scold me, berate me, and bark orders,” he revealed.
“I head down to the bar for a drink…the bride’s mother is there and warns me not to get drunk because I’ve ruined her daughter’s day enough. Final straw.”
So, when it came time to get up there and give his speech to everyone in attendance at the wedding, he didn’t hold anything back.
“I didn’t give them the card with the cash, and in the speech, I used my friend’s exact wording about having to deal with her nonsense for the rest of his life,” he said.
“I wished them the best and told him I’d always be there for him, especially during the divorce.”
