Despite her husband seeming totally on board with the plan, though, he completely shocked her the following morning.
When she woke up, she realized that Molly was nowhere to be found. So, she, of course, freaked out and assumed that Molly had escaped or run away. Well then, her husband actually revealed that he literally sold her cat to a random person on Gumtree without consulting her or even doing a proper background check on the buyer!
She became totally enraged, rightfully so, and actually kicked her husband out. Then, she began contacting animal shelters in her area and asking friends to be on the lookout for Molly. While she frantically tried to find her cat, though, her husband would not stop blowing up her phone and accusing her of being “stupid” for kicking him out. Go figure.
Anyway, she was eventually contacted by a friend who works at a shelter and told that they recently received a multi-colored Scottish fold. So, the following day, she went in, confirmed that the cat was Molly, and got to take her beloved pet home.
“I guess the whole ‘I sold Molly’ story was a lie since I found her. But, she is healthy and happy,” she revealed.
As for her husband, she actually filed for divorce after getting Molly back. And now, she never plans to let her now-ex back into her life again.
If your husband lied about loving a pet for so long, would you feel betrayed? What would you do if they then went behind your back and got rid of it?
