A 31-year-old woman is super close with her family, to the point that they pretty much spend every Sunday together having dinner.
She and her parents take turns hosting, and yesterday was her turn to have everyone over to her house.
Her parents, her brother, her husband, and her mom’s best friend were all invited over, and she created a really delicious dinner for everyone.
She made roasted chicken with lemon and herbs de Provence, asparagus, mashed potatoes, stuffing, roasted delicata squash, roasted Brussel sprouts with bacon and apples, and she even had cranberry sauce too.
Just an hour before they were supposed to sit down to eat, her brother said he was bringing his girlfriend Becky and his girlfriend’s daughter too.
While this wasn’t the end of the world to have extra guests show up, it was irritating, as Becky and her daughter both are vegetarians.
“I’ll be honest, we don’t really care for his GF, but my family has a rule you don’t mess with other people’s relationships; my brother is an adult,” she explained.
“Becky just seems very opportunistic, and her kid is very weird (They’ve been together 8 months, have broken up twice, and after 6, asked if she could move into his place because it’s in a better school district than her apartment).”
Anyway, they all get ready to sit down, and Becky’s daughter wants to know where April can sit. She had no clue who April was, and they didn’t bring another person with them, so she didn’t know what was going on.

Becky intervened and stated that April is her daughter’s imaginary friend.
“This kid is 9, turning 10,” she said. “She starts shrieking that April needs to eat having a total tantrum. My mom tries to calm things down suggesting she share her place and seat, which she refuses, demanding a chair and plate.”
“Her mom tells me to just set a spot. My dining room table has 8 chairs, all in use. The kid gets louder, and everyone else is in shock, she tosses herself to the ground. I get flustered and tell her to please get her to stop.”
“Becky then goes on the attack calling me rude and heartless for not giving in to her kid. She also says that she knows I “hate” kids and that’s why we don’t have any. We are child-free but I like my friend’s kids, not brats.”
Becky keeps going though, and starts up a complete tirade about how nasty it was of her to not make a main dish that was vegetarian for them.
She retorted that she wasn’t aware that Becky and her daughter were going to show up, and she never even invited them.
Becky kept on yelling at her while Becky’s kid was sobbing and rolling around on the floor of her home.
That was it for her, and she maintained that if Becky could not be respectful in her house, she needed to go.
Becky shouted at her brother that it was time to leave, but her brother insisted that he was going to stay put.
“Everyone is shocked, but we eat,” she continued. “My brother silences his phone because she’s blowing him up and he is shell shocked.”
“She’s now slamming my family and me on SM and accusing us of trying to break them up.”
She’s left wondering if it was wrong of her to kick them out. Do you think she had every right to ask them to leave her home after how they acted?
