Her 16-Year-Old Daughter Has Her Own Apartment, And When Her Dad’s Wife Tried To Manipulate Her Way Into Staying There, Her Daughter Stood Up For Herself And She’s Not Making Her Apologize

A 41-year-old woman has a 16-year-old daughter named Sofia who has her very own apartment.
Although Sofia grew up in the apartment she currently shares with her husband, this summer, Sofia moved into an apartment that’s located 3 floors below the one she lives in.
Despite the fact that Sofia now has her own space, she still spends a ton of time in their family apartment.
In a month, Sofia will be celebrating her birthday, and her dad is coming from overseas to be there too.
Sofia is super close to her dad, but Sofia has never spent any amount of time around her dad’s wife.
When her dad informed her that he would be coming for Sofia’s birthday, he wanted to know if his wife Sally could come along with him.
She checked with Sofia to make sure that was alright, and Sofia was cool with it, so she told her dad to bring Sally.
“Hotels are quite expensive in our city, so I offered for my father and Sally to stay at our apartment, fully expecting that he would decline, which he did,” she explained.
“I presumed they would find a hotel and left it at that. A few days later, I got a text from Sally, asking if she and my father could stay in my daughter’s apartment while they were visiting “so that we can all have our own space.” I thought this was impudent but told her I would ask my daughter and get back to her.”

“Sofia said she didn’t want to come and stay upstairs because she was going to have a small party at her apartment one of the days of her birthday week, which she can’t do at our apartment, and that her best friend would be staying over two nights that week.”
So, she turned around and let Sally know that she could not stay in Sofia’s apartment, but Sally wasn’t ready to take no for an answer.
Sally kept pestering her, but she still declined. One day later, her dad called her up to say that Sofia had made Sally super upset and she needed to speak to Sofia immediately about it.
Her dad went on to mention that Sofia had texted Sally a really rude message before uninviting her to her birthday.
She went right down to Sofia’s apartment to talk to her about this, and Sofia showed her the messages.
Apparently, Sally thought she would reach out to Sofia directly to get her to let her stay there instead of having to sleep at a hotel.
“Sofia again said no, and Sally kept pushing, saying how she and my father couldn’t afford to go if they had to pay for accommodation,” she said.
“The text messages were extremely patronizing and manipulative. Sofia replied, saying that my dad could come on his own, and since Sally is the reason they have to stay at a hotel and Sofia didn’t mind if she didn’t come. Sally didn’t reply, but obviously, she’d been tattling.”
“After seeing the whole thread, I told my dad the way I see it, Sally attempted to bully a child, and she picked the wrong one. I said Sofia had offered a viable solution to the problem, and if they couldn’t afford to pay for the trip, my dad was welcome to stay with me.”
Since all of this happened, her dad has been researching out to her many times every day, demanding that Sofia say sorry to Sally.
Her dad then attempted to make her feel bad by insisting that she’s forcing him to pick between Sally and Sofia, and Sally is throwing a fit about it all.
She doesn’t understand how she is forcing her dad to choose between them, and she never told her dad that Sally had to stay at home for the whole trip.
“But he seems a bit desperate, and I know Sally can be very temperamental over things like this, so I’m beginning to think maybe I should have asked Sofia to apologize,” she concluded.
Do you think she should make Sofia say sorry to Sally over all of this?
