The victims have since been identified as: Tiago Sousa, eighteen; Laci Stone, eighteen; Travis Garcia, nineteen; Mauricio Sanchez, nineteen; Karisa Raines, twenty-one; Jackson Zinn, twenty-two; and Coach Tyler James, twenty-six.
The two other students who sustained severe injuries– Dayton price, nineteen, and Hayden Underhill, twenty– were transported to a local hospital.
The NTSB shared that the crash is still under investigation, and more information will be released soon.
“An analysis of the crash facts, along with conclusions and a determination of probable cause, will come at a later date when the final report on the investigation is completed,” the board said.
In the meantime, the victim’s families, friends, and the greater university community continue to mourn the grave loss.
