This assessment set off a string of comments in agreement.
She then mentioned that she kept asking her husband about what was going on. He also seemed to say that she didn’t “fit in” well with the family and that his siblings’ significant others did.
She continued asking questions until she got a clear answer. When his mom first met her, she shared, “His mom told him that he should think about finding someone who “suited him better,” and she encouraged him to take some time away from me. She said the family dinners would be a great opportunity for him to be with his family, where he “fit in.”
He certainly got the space he seemed to need—she left him and is expecting a separation and eventual divorce.
