While her mother remarried two years ago, she has never been close to her stepsisters. One of her stepsisters loves to borrow her stuff occasionally and usually without asking for permission.
So she let it slide until one day when the 17-year-old girl could not find the necklace her father gave her.
Panicking, the girl ran into her stepsister’s room to see if she had it. Low and behold, the girl was wearing it around her neck.
Politely, the girl asked for the necklace back and reminded her stepsister that she was not comfortable with her wearing it for obvious reasons.
The stepsister scoffed, walked out of the room, and told her to stop being a baby.
The girl then yells for her mother in hopes she will stop the stepsister from leaving the house, and to her surprise, her mother takes her stepsister’s side.
Demanding that she was too old to be attached to something, her mother then looked at her daughter and said, “Your father probably got this off the side of the street.”
While her parents never really got along in the past, this was an unfair statement to make.
Luckily, her stepdad comes to the girl’s defense.
“My stepdad overheard the conversation and came to my defense,” she said. “He explained to them that it was my necklace and his daughter had no right to steal it like that.”
“He said since she didn’t want to give me the necklace back she can stay home.”
