A 53-year-old mom has a daughter who is about to get married this June, and she is thrilled to be celebrating this major milestone in her daughter's life. Their whole family is excited about her daughter's wedding, and it's going to be a pretty over-the-top event. She's been helping her daughter through the planning process, but one issue that's really beginning to bother her is that her daughter is having a really hard time finding a wedding dress that fits her. "We have already been to a number of wedding dress retailers and even custom tailors," she explained. "Although I think some of the dresses look beautiful and flattering on her rather curvy body type she does not seem to like any one of them." "Not a single one, which after her probing her further she mentions that it is not because of the cutting of the dress or the design but rather her own issues with her body." "She has been trying to lose weight since last September but somehow my daughter keeps coming off the diet plans and unfortunately does not have the discipline to see the curated diet and workout plans to their completion." This mom insists that she never tried to get involved with her daughter's dieting, but now that they're just a few months away from her daughter's wedding, she thought it was best to do something to "motivate her." Her daughter does currently live with her, so she started making an effort to create healthy meals for her daughter. She also told her daughter that it was time to lay off the junk food, and then she turned around and asked 2 of her daughter's coworkers to keep an eye on what she was eating for lunch. If you think she did this behind her daughter's back, she didn't; she actually asked her daughter if it was ok for her to help her with her weight loss goals. "...She was grateful that she had someone to check up on her," she said. "At first, she followed through with it then she started getting annoyed within the first one week." But then, her daughter started becoming upset about everyone monitoring her, and she freaked out on her coworkers about it. The other evening, this mom made Indian food for dinner for the whole family, except her daughter. Instead, she specifically made a small portion of pesto pasta with a ton of vegetables for her daughter. When her daughter saw what was on her plate as opposed to everyone else's, she lost it on her mom. "She insulted me for interfering with her weight loss plans when it was she herself who keeps whining about not being able to shed pounds and not doing anything about it," this mom continued. "She also in her rage pushed the plate aside and all the contents in it had already fallen to the floor. This obviously made me angry and I retorted back saying that this is why she can't get any suitable dresses this damn close to the wedding." She knows that wasn't the nicest thing to say to her daughter, but it really frustrated her to have her daughter get angry with her when she thinks she was just trying to help. "I am so confused and distraught about the whole weight and wedding dress fiasco," she added. Do you think this mom handled things with her daughter in the best way?
