Her Boyfriend Pulled A Prank On Her That Left Her Seriously Injured

Of course, going on a leave of absence means her financial situation will take a serious hit, not to mention the costs of surgery and rehab.

However, when she approached her parents about taking legal action against her now-former boyfriend, they asked her to drop it.

“My parents don’t want to help me press charges because they are friends with Evan’s parents.” But Evan continues to spread lies on social media about their situation, even calling his actions a “prank” and blaming her for the fallout.

Sympathetic Reddit users expressed their outrage over the situation and had some choice words for both Evan and the student’s parents for discouraging her from suing.

“Just to be clear: he assaulted you,” one commenter wrote to her. “If people contact you, tell them exactly what happened and don’t mention the word “prank,” just tell them what he did and how bad the damage is and that you need surgery to fix what he did to you.”

Others advised her to immediately contact a lawyer, file police charges, and screenshot any online evidence of Evan talking about the incident.

A helpful Reddit user commented, “Him babbling about his “prank” (not a prank, btw) is an admission. Which is also evidence. Especially if he does it in writing, but even a verbal admission to a third party could help.”

Hopefully, she can find a way to get retribution for the injury and its long-term financial and emotional impact.
