Nine months after Carina was found, 2 men were arrested and charged with her murder on July 5th, 2012.
However, there just was not enough evidence to move forward, and on February 5th, 2013, charges against both of the men were dropped.
Authorities have also tried to focus in on who Carina was last seen alive with, learning that she was seen getting inside of a big, red truck on CCTV footage from the Newcastle Casino and Gaming Center.
The footage is from October 8th, 2011, and was taken just 20 miles away from where she was discovered. Police suspect that Carina’s death was on or close to October 8th.

Police could make out on the footage the man driving the truck that Carina got into had sleeve tattoos on both arms, but that’s all they have to go on.
A spokeswoman for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has shared in a press release one more piece of information about Carina getting into that truck, “Also worth making note of is that there were girls nearby in a dark car who were pleading with Carina not to go with them.”
“To this date, we don’t know who those girls were, but we would like to know who they were.”
