Samsung BlackJack II Now Available in Pink and Blue
July 21, 2008
We <3 the Blackjack II. It’s a great Windows Mobile smartphone that already comes in ordinary black and a lovely red. Now it’s available in pink/white and blue/white with a modern design pattern covering its back. The actual keyboard of both models is white and the photos of the pink version do make it seem a bit purpleish, but still we are quite excited. Both phones are available for just $99 after rebate from AT&T. Bring on the powerful pink smartphones!
Binary Ibiza Ride RB Wristwatch Tells Time, I Think
July 3, 2008
If you found telling time on one of those Movado watches without the hours denoted on the face a pain, than you might find telling time on this watch just as confusing. The Binary Ibiza Ride RB tells time by displaying colorful diodes. With a press of a button it will even tell you the date as well. The style of the watch is perfect for any hipster geek (now isn’t that an oxymoron). However if I had this watch and someone asked me the time, I wouldn’t know what to tell them…hmm.
SideWindow Transforms Your Old PDA in to a Second Display
June 13, 2008
PDAs have gone the way of the dinosaur, they don’t even have good eBay resell value. So in the age of smartphones, what do you do with that old Windows Smartphone laying around that is still in great condition? Instead of transforming it in to a paperweight, you can use it as a secondary display. SideWindow is a neat app that allows you to transform your PDA in to a secondary display appropriate for small windows like a buddy list, a to-do list, or whatever else you might need to glance at frequently but you rather not waste precious screen real estate on. The app retails for $24.95.
Logitech’s Pure-Fi Mobile Bluetooth Speaker Review
June 8, 2008
Logitech’s New Pure-Fi Mobile wireless speaker and speakerphone is not the first of its kind. There are many other bluetooth speaker / speakerphone systems on the market but the majority of them fail to deliver a good audio experience. However, Logitech produces some very good speaker systems and iPod docks, so we hoped that the Pure-Fi Mobile would too.
The Pure-Fi Mobile’s goal is to deliver a great wireless audio experience for use with your phone or PC whilst being small and portable enough to travel with. The speaker can last up to 12 hours with its rechargeable batteries. Aside from connecting it to your A2DP enabled phone or PC, you can also connect your iPod or Mp3 player to the Pure-Fi Mobile via the 3.5MM stereo jacket. A cable is even supplied to do so. Of course that means that it won’t be a wireless experience, but blame that on Apple for leaving A2DP bluetooth out. [Read more]

No more paying for WiFi when you’re on the go… sweet.
AOL MyMobile Beta for Smartphones Rips Off Yahoo Go 3.0, But Who Cares
April 25, 2008
In an effort to keep their email users from leaving, AOL has released a cool new software app for smartphones called AOL MyMobile Beta. Compatible with most popular Windows Mobile devices, like the Blackjack II, it lets you access AIM, AOL Mail, Mapquest, AOL pictures, AOL Cityguide, Moviefone, your AOL contacts, and the weather all via a neat and organized app. Did we say neat? It’s actually very familiar - they no doubt took cues from Yahoo Go 3.0 which lets smartphones users access Yahoo popular services like Yahoo Mail, Flickr, etc, using a similarly styled interface. Both Yahoo Go 3.0 and AOL MyMobile are currently in Beta and have some kinks to work out, but they are must haves being free and all - especially if you are a Yahoo Mail or AOL mail user that has a compatible Windows Mobile Device. However our guess is that Yahoo Go 3.0, being a 3rd incarnation, is probably the superior app. Anyway, this gets us thinking - forget Microsoft buying Yahoo, we want AOL & Yahoo to merge so we can have the best of all of their free services meshed together.

ECTACO iTRAVL NTL-9C Talking 2-way Multilingual Language Communicator
August 30, 2007
Don’t go traveling with out this device. Until they create a real universal translator system like they do on Star Trek (ever wonder how all the aliens can communicate with each other even if they’ve only met for the first time). ECTACO’s iTRAVL NTL-9C is a talking 2-way multilingual language Communicator and an electronic dictionary. The handheld device can translate words and phrases from to Chinese, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian Spanish and back. All you have to do is speak and the NTLC-9C will instantly spit back the translation. Running on Windows CE, The device also features a Travel Guide, a CIA World Factbook, travel audio books and an MP3 player. ECTACO’s iTRAVL NTL-9C retails for $499 and comes with a 1GB SD card to get you started. That price isn’t so outrageous, if it will work as advertised. The question is are you brave enough to talk to strangers by whipping out this thing? Not the greatest first impression.
Truphone Offers Free Calling From Your Mobile Phone to 40 countries Worldwide
August 24, 2007
Nokia’s Series 60 based smartphones aren’t nearly as popular in the USA as they are in Europe, which is a shame because there is so much great free and powerful software available for them. One example of that kind of software is Truphone, a VoIP application that allows you to make phone calls. Currently Truphone is running a promotion that if you sign up for their service before September 30th, you’ll be eligible to make free phone calls to landlines in 40 countries for the rest of the year. Users who sign up in the UK or US will get their own UK or US phone number, respectively. Truphone also recently announced some new features which includes free text messaging to other Truphone users, and Truphone inTones which lets you choose the ring that your callers hear - this is the kind of feature that only wireless providers have been able to provide until now.
BuiltNY Laptop Portfolio, Sleeve and Electronics Pocket Review
August 10, 2007
Do you consider yourself fashionable but hip? If so, check out BuiltNY’s line of bags for laptops and other electronics. We got our hands on some of their bags including their Laptop Portfolio, Laptop Sleeve and their Electric Pockets. BuiltNY’s signature style includes a unique bone shape that shows up in both their sleeve and case. Aside from giving a funky unique flair to the bag, it also serves the purpose of creating a bumper system for extra protection at the corners. The Laptop portfolio is also very lightweight, yet the Storing-Rib material that it is made of feels strong and durable. The bag also has a separate exterior pocket for carrying a charger, mouse or other accessory. Which for me is necessary because I’m always worried about my Macbook Pro getting scratched up by some stray item. [Read more]
MyGreenElectronics.org’s, Guide to Sage Electronic Decisions
August 10, 2007
We all get it- Global Warming is happening. Outside of buying different light bulbs, what can be done? How do you wade through all the “green products” and make the most informed decisions possible? MyGreenElectronics.org is a Consumer Electronics Association website aimed at demystifying the lush leafy world of electronic greenness.
The site is divided into 4 instructional sections of 4 R’s- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rethink.
Reduce-
This section contains an energy calculator that breaks down impact of various devices in your household such as TV, Notebook PC, DVD player, etc. It calculates, on a per average basis, how much it costs to have electronic devices in use, asleep, and off by the time increments you enter in. You may be surprised how much money a merely plugged in device can eat up.
An informative section is “Tips for saving energy.” A few of these include: buy items with the “ENERGY STAR” label (Energy Star is a joint program of the US Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy). Go digital on your thermostat. Unplug chargers once device is fully charged. Or my personal favorite- Ask your employer about working from home or a satellite business location to cut your commute. I can see it now, “Come on boss, it’s for the environment!” Well, maybe you will have better luck.
Other sections of “Reduce” include “Tips for extending the life of your electronics with proper care” and “Repair or replace?” The latter contains a link to Consumer Report’s “Fix it or Nix it?” which is a useful table identifying problems of many electronics and whether to keep ‘em or junk ‘em.
Coach’s Signature Treo Case
May 11, 2007
I love my Treo 750, well minus a few issues here and there. Anyway, here is a designer case that is compatible with your Treo whether it’s the 700 series of the 650. Coach’s Signature Treo Case is covered in Coach’s distinctive design and is crafted from jacquard fabric with Vermillion Nappa leather accents. Pink Metal Cases for the Treo 680 and 750
April 17, 2007
My phone of choice is the Treo 750. Unfortunately I’ve knocked it around about and probably should have considered investing in a case for it. Seido Online has new pink and hot pink metal cases for the Treo 680 and 750 with room for the 2400 mAh extended battery, which is also something that you might need as the battery life on these devices get sucked up pretty quickly.
Free Total Video Converter Software Converts Your Video & Audio in to Several Formats
March 21, 2007
Between my PSP, my IPod, my PC and and home theater system, there are so many video and audio formats and so little time. There are plenty of software programs that handle converting one format to the other, but iTinySoft’s Total Video Converter Software is the first free software that we’ve ever discovered that does so much with out a price tag attached to it. Among its features is the ability to create photo slide shows that can be outputted to disc, ipod, PSP, PDAs, smartphones and DVD players, and support for generating a whole slew of audio and video formats including mp4, 3gp, xvid, divx mpeg4 avi, ASF, WMV, WMA video and audio formats - just to name a couple. The software has already garnered several 5 star ratings, so here is to hoping that it remains free.
Update: Thanks to Twocents comment on this post, we did some research and apparently our tip on this software was wrong! “It is a Free” Download, but not free software. What a bummer. But as a token of how sorry we are for this mistake, here is a great link to free ipod video conversion software - Videora. And we promise that this one is really free this time.
USBCELL Batteries for Cell Phones Charge Via USB Connector
February 22, 2007
Moixa’s USBCELLs were the first standard sized batteries to come with a USB connector for charging. Now they’ve come out with cell phone batteries with USB connectors as well. This is great because it can illuminate the need to bring a long your cell phone charger while you’re traveling. When your phone dies you can easily pop the battery’s USB connector in to your laptop for charging. Or instead of having to carry around many chargers, you could just have one charger that accepts USB devices. These USBCELLS will be available for major cell phones, Blackberries and other portable devices. (Source: T3 Magazine, February ‘07)

January 31, 2007

Each case comes with a matching leather bag which we consider to be very practical, because even if your gadget is wearing a case, a small bag is needed to insure extra protection against spills, crumbs and other harsh elements. And similarly to other Vaja cases, you can also customize your own Caddie model by choosing from several leather colors, and you can also have your name or logo embossed on the backside of the case.
Chip Chick Mobile Edition Now Available
January 15, 2007
Cellular data is a horrible thing to waste. We also know how irritatingly slow it can take for sites to load on a cell phone or PDA. Thus, we now have a stripped-down version of Chip Chick that is available for most popular mobile internet browsers for your cell phone and PDA. But have no fear - if a primarily text version of Chip Chick is too minimalist for you, you’ll still have the option of switching off the mobile version from your mobile device.

MDA Compact II Pocket Pc Phone in Pink
November 2, 2005
The MDA Compact II Pocket PC Phone is an adorable and tiny Pocket PCPhone that sports cool features including a 400Mhz processor and a 1.3 megapixel
camera. Until now the MDA Compact II could be only found in the color gray, but according to
the ladies over at Gadget
Candy in the U.K., the MDA Compact II is now available in metallic pink.
This is probably the first Pocket PC to ever come in the color pink. Perhaps the
folks behind the MDA got a bit envious of the recent Juicy Couture
Sidekick? Unfortunately, they didn’t mention where this version of the MDA
Compact II is available to purchase…. so if any can send me some information
for as to where to locate one, please pass it on!
