Diamante Mouse is Diamond Studded and Stupid
April 15, 2008
Give someone a glue-gun and some rhinestones and you never know what you’ll get these days. The Diamante Mouse is a good example of just such wasted glue and rhinestones. This standard USB mouse is not ergonomic but it is studded with “dazzling white, fake diamonds” um ok…how dazzling… but it certainly doesn’t look very comfortable to use in fact the heat from your hand would probably cause some of those “white diamonds” to end up on the palm of your hand. Call me harsh, but I think £27.99 is a little outrageous for something I can pay $15 bucks for between the mouse and supplies at a craft store.
SpaceNavigator for Notebooks Review
April 14, 2008
It is a pretty well known fact that the typical optical mouse can be a trying to work with in 3D environments. You just don’t have that much flexibility to rotate items or pan smoothly. Especially when it comes to being on the road and you only have your dedicated laptop trackpad, it can be extremely difficult to work in 3D software. You just don’t have that many fingers! 3DConnexion released the newest addition to their SpaceNavigator line, the SpaceNavigator for Notebooks. Like the regular SpaceNavigator, the SpaceNavigator for Notebooks allows you to easily move around in 3D environments, but this one is more portable and travel friendly. We were lucky enough to get a some one on one time with the SpaceNavigator for Notebooks which was just released.
3DConnexion’s Line of 3D Mice Welcome SpaceNavigator for Notebooks
April 8, 2008
We’ve mentioned some of 3DConnexion’s products in the past because of their very unusual brand of peripherals. We’re not knocking the old fashioned mouse, we couldn’t survive without them, but when it comes to navigating 3D space in 3D software, working with a mouse can be frustrating and limiting. 3Dconnexion specializes in products that let you move fluidly in 3D Programs like Maya and Autocad. Their newest device is the SpaceNavigator for Notebooks which has been sleekly designed with portability in mind for those 3D professionals who are constantly on the go with their laptops. But the SpaceNavigator isn’t necessarily meant just for 3D professionals. It also works with popular programs like Google Earth and SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, and 3DConnexion just announced that by mid April, their devices will also work with everyone’s favorite online multiplayer - Second Life. March 26, 2008
Powerpoint presentations are basically the norm at business meetings. Usually to proceed to the next slide you have to click the mouse on your laptop or external mouse. Which means the mouse has to be pretty close to the laptop and typically placed a table top to work because most mice don’t work in the air. Microsoft surprisingly came out with a mouse that will solve that problem and others. The Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 is a small notebook mouse that does it all. It can be utilized as a notebook mouse, a slideshow presenter, a laser pointer, and a remote for media center pcs. Ice Rage Pocket Mouse is Fashionablly Neon
March 24, 2008
At first glance I didn’t know what this was, was it a digital camera? A battery charger? An electric shaver? I was surprised to discover that it’s actually a mouse, the Pocket mouse from Ice Rage to be exact. Sleek and sort of stylish, this three button mouse with an ultra-sensitive touch sensor works on both PC and Mac. There is even a Auto Retractor for the USB cable to avoid long wires… almost like one of those doggy leashes. The mouse is available in a big selection of colors including Blue, Hot Pink, Neon Green, Silver, White, and Black. We love the color choices but this mouse is not for someone who is looking for something ergonomic. However this mouse is certainly aimed to be the talk of any meeting or long plane ride. [Read more]

A4tech has created an interesting battery free wireless mouse that never needs to be recharged! The mouse gets its power from the the included mouse pad which transfers instant power to it via “electromagnetic induction technology.”As a mouse, it works like any other ordinary optical mouse but it has neat dual scroll wheels for horizontal and vertical scrolling. Retailing for $22.99 at Smarthome.com this is another re-invention of our little dependable buddy.
Slim Pad Mouse Replaces Scroll Wheel with a Touch Sensor
November 15, 2007
The SliMouse SlimPad doesn’t just look odd because it is a square shaped mouse, it really is pretty odd because instead of using a scroll wheel it has a sensor touch-scroll. The sensor touch-scroll claims to allow greater precision and ease of control. There are two Slim Pads available - a Model I with a wire that stores inside of the mouse when not in use. And there is a Model II which is wireless. There is no release date or pricing yet available for the Slip Pad, but it looks like it’s starting to be hip to be square.
