Ice Red’s Sirocco Laptop Bag Review
October 3, 2008
At first glance, the Sirocco laptop bag seems like a big and boxy tote bag. But sometimes big and boxy is just what you need and you didn’t even know it. It easily fits my 13″ inch MacBook with ease and room to spare. It can hold up laptops up to 15.4″ inches. The exterior is made out of a crinkly nylon material that reminds me of a ripstop material. It makes cleanup a cinch if you’re a klutz like me, should you accidentally spill something. The bag is lined with a nylon interior all around.
If you’ve read my past reviews, you’d know how much I love pockets; the more the better. I like everything organized so my items are easily accessible. I hate digging around trying to find something at the bottom. The front pocket has multiple compartments for your ID, cellphone, ipod, pens, etc. The pocket behind it is large enough to fit magazines. On the inside, a lined and padded divider splits the bag in two. I put my laptop in one compartment, and the power cord and accessories in the other. On the backside, there is another large pocket. Should you need more space, there is a side zipper that expands the main compartment by 2″.
The zippers and zipper pulls are a bit plastic-y looking, and thick at about 1/4″ wide. After first I wasn’t terribly fond of the chunky look, but then I realized that it would be unlikely to snag nor break. What I love best about the bag is comfort factor. I hardly carry my laptop with the handles. I seriously love the adjustable shoulder strap. It’s padded with a wide rubber material and makes such a huge difference. The shoulder strap is also long enough so I can carry it like a messenger bag across the chest. Everything is so roomy that you could hold a ton of stuff and it wouldn’t even give you shoulder strain like other bags. It makes for a perfect book bag actually.
While the bag’s main demographic is geared towards women, the bag has an unisex utilitarian and rugged look. The gray with the orange interior is shown. The color combination lends itself to an urban look and feel. It’s also available in blue, red, and black. You may purchase the Siroco at Ice Red for $69.95.
Pros: Spacious. Has lots of pockets and doesn’t even look like a laptop bag.
Cons: The bag is a bit large for my small frame. The padding is decent, but could be better.
Dimensions:
17″ L x 13″ H x 4″ D
Laptop Compartment: 16″ L x 11″ H x 2″ D

September 26, 2008
The new Sony Vaio Z series is so slick, it will even make some Mac users have a wandering eye. Weighing less than 3.5lbs with a Blu-ray drive, Core 2 Duo processor, and 13.1 inch display with a 1600×900 resolution - it’s one ultra-portable laptop that knows how to pack a punch and look good at the same time. But what we’re especially excited about is that Dynamism is offering the Z90 with custom etchings on its carbon case. You can choose from Botanical Garden, Gothic Arabesque, or Line Forest. The etchings adds a level of style to the laptop that makes it look like a million bucks. Pricing begins at $1999.

Fashion week is mostly known for its high end fashion and celebrity sightings. You never see anything remotely gadgety on the runway except for the disco balls or strobe lights for the shows. The special edition laptop represents the first time a major high end designer and computer company joined forces to not only present a notebook that is stylish but also super portable - in addition to premiering during fashion week in Bryant Park. Tam has worked with HP to design the packaging as well as the accessories to accompany the laptop.

Ice Red’s Shine Laptop Bag Review
August 25, 2008
Ice Red has proved to be a reliable company for sturdy cute bags such as the sporty chic messenger bag we reviewed last year. The “Shine” laptop bag is a design anomaly for Ice Red. It is feminine, glossy, and bright! In this transition to blunt fashionista bags, they didn’t lose versatility or sturdiness. In fact, they cleverly incorporated it to their advantage. [Read more]

Lexie Barnes Echo Diablo Laptop Bag Review
August 14, 2008
Lexie Barnes is back with a new line of boldly feminine laptop bags. We reviewed the Echo bag last year with great applause and this year’s Echo bag does not disappoint either. Often times we find laptop bags being slapped into some awkward shade of pink like a tomboy shoved into a Sunday school dress. Lexie’s collections don’t follow suit. They exude a vibrant flow of style and color, while incorporating utility with ease.
The Echo bags come in 3 different colors- Utopia, Pacifica, and Diablo. We received the Diablo. Although this name may make you think of fiery red colors, don’t be fooled. It really should be named Diabla (with the feminine ending), to show its swirly daring scarlet and deep purple designs. It is bound to get some conversations started when you are out and about. Belkin’s new Energy Collection Backpack has been designed in mind for those looking for a lightweight backpack for carrying their laptop that is still tough enough to withstand the riggers of day to day traveling.
Design:
The design of the Backpack is modern but minimalist, which can be said about much of Belkin’s laptop accessories. There is no sacrifice of form over function. While you wouldn’t see this bag coming down the runway, it is styled with a modern and hip look that will appeal to many types - from the metrosexual man to the fashion savvy women looking for a truly comfortable backpack to carry her laptop in. Lexie Barnes New Line of Laptop Bags for Summer
July 18, 2008
Last year we did a review on one of the Lexie Barnes Laptop Bags. It was an extremely functional and light weight bag to lug around your laptop in. It was also very feminine with mostly pastel colors and floral patterns. In August Lexie Barnes will release a slew of more feminine designed offerings. The Cricket, a laptop sleeve, will provide protection for 13″, 15″, and 17″ MacBooks, MacBook Pros, and Widescreen PC’s. The Pixie backpack covered from all angles in a yellow floral pattern is the perfect item to take to the beach as it screams fun and summertime. Finally the Echo is an update to the model we reviewed last year of the same name. This time around it sports a funky reddish and purple design and will support, 13″, 15″, or 17″ screens too. Prices are rather affordable ranging from $30 to $100. If you buy anyone of them you are bound to grab attention and a few ooohs and aaaahs.
Jansport Laptop Sleeves and Messenger Bags Bring Back Memories of H.S.
July 13, 2008
Like many people my age, they probably remember using Jansport backpacks when going to highschool. It was the bag to have at the time. If you didn’t have a Jansport you were considered lame, nowadays it’s Louis Vuitton. Like many companies these days, Jansport had to diversify their products as well. Backpacks are still quite popular but messenger bags, laptop sleeves etc… are also. So I was very delighted to see that Jansport has a very nice selection of woman friendly designs for your laptop. The Artist is a limited edition messenger bag styled with a graffiti art and other trendy works that has a padded shoulder strap and can easily fit a 15″ inch laptop in it’s one large compartment. The Vertical Shockshield Sleeve is a little different looking than your typical neoprene sleeve as it comes with a Velcro closure and has a handle to carry it around. There are even rings to attach a shoulder strap. The sleeve will fit a 17″ laptop very comfortably. Last but not least is the Ella Tote, a very female oriented design that will never give away that there is a laptop in your bag. There is a side pocket for a water bottle and will fit a 17″ laptop. With so many to choose from, you won’t know which to buy first. Most of the styles can be found at ebags.com for $34.90
Belkin’s Fall ‘08 Preview
July 11, 2008

The new goodies ranged from colorful laptop and iPod cases to some functional and well thought out products for your home like the new FlyWire that lets your Plasma TV go wireless. Oh, and if you’re wondering what that mannequin is wearing - it’s a dress made of Belkin accessories. Ok, not for sale, but we like it so much so we might have bought it if it were. [Read more]
