July 17, 2008
Ever find it difficult to read the time on the clock across the room? The solution is simple. Hand up the Huge Digital Wall Clock which measures 1 meter by half a meter. That’s enough to fool people in to thinking it’s some sort of spage-ace flat panel HDTV from a far. The clock is available in blue, red, green or white colors and retails for £49.95.

Cardboard Grandfather Clock is Very Flammable
July 4, 2008
Not many people own a Grandfather clock anymore sadly. Those who did probably remember that beautiful loud noise it made when it would strike on the hour or half hour. They were also handcrafted out of wood and gears and tend to be mostly intricate and expensive. However the Cardboard Grandfather Clock from Mydeco is not expensive at all and I can’t believe it even works! It resembles a clock I made in 1st grade out of a paper plate. For £90 you’ll get a light brown clock that is 196cm high, 53cm in width and length with no second hand or hours on the face. There are only 2 available currently and I assume if they run out, they will need to make a run to Staples to buy supplies for another one.
Nextplay’s Affordable Fashion iPod Alarm Clock
June 8, 2008
Nextplay’s Fashion iPod Docking Clock radio is by far not the most interesting of iPod speakers but it’s a great affordable ipod clock, especially for those who will appreciate it’s subtle flair. The dock is designed with splashes of pink flowers on it, making it girly but not too girly. The alarm clock features a buzzer, a snooze mode, an AM/FM radio and of course an iPod Dock. Not bad at all for $49.99
80’s Style Rubix Cube Alarm Clock
May 21, 2008
It looks like a Rubix Cube, it kind of works like a Rubix Cube, but it’s actually a clock. The 80’s Cube Clock is an adorable take on an iconic toy. Hopefully we’ll be able to figure out how to set the time on this more easily than actually solving a rubix cube puzzle. The clock also works as a calendar, an alarm clock and it also shows the current temperature. The 80’s Cube clock retails for $19.99.
G-Shock Celebrates 25 Years, Intros More Tough As Hell Watches
May 15, 2008
What could be considered the Academy Awards of watches, Casio kicked off their 25 year celebration of their G-Shock line with a red carpet gala. Sure people were there from the music and fashion industry, and many came to see Mr. Kanye West (more on that later) and Spike Lee whom are both big fans of G-Shock. To us though the stars of the show were the watches and after everyone showed their admission bracelets (in the likeness of a G-Shock watch) for entry and settled in to their seats for the press conference, that is when the fun started. Casio gave a brief history of how the line was created with a very cute slideshow of images. G-Shock watches from the past, present and future flashed in front of us. They also startled us by dropping a bundle of watches from the 30 foot (or so) ceiling on to the floor of the stage. Then they introduced Spike Lee as an “icon of street culture” and as well as a collaborator on a short film celebrating G-Shock’s 25th anniversary. The presentation concluded with the newest additions to the G-Shock line were introduced:
Toughness and Beauty
Two watches introduced were the MTG 1000 and GIEZ /GS -1100 geared towards the more high end rugged customer who is not afraid to wear a tough durable watch with a suit. Both are sophisticated designs that are not only sporty but professional. MTG 1000 retails for $400 and the GIEZ/GS -1100 retails for $300.
Extreme Conditions
Four watches were introduced with the the extreme sportsman or woman in mind.
RISEMAN, is a watch that is for the aviator in all of us or world traveler. No matter were you go around the country your watch will always be the first to know what time it is. With its built in Multiband 6 Atomic Timekeeping Technology, calibrating anywhere around the world by connecting to one of the 6 worldwide transmitting towers your watch will automatically change its time. It will never know what jet lag is. MSRP $220 and Available in Macy’s in June.
GULFMAN, the watch the Tin Man could love. For those that may find themselves in more damp/moist conditions than other folks which could lead to rust, may like the fact that the GULFMAN watch is completely rust resistant and is made of titanium parts that eliminate rust. No need for any WD-40 here. Pricing and Availability TBD
MUDMAN, is for the Dirt Bike rider or Miner. MUDMAN is resistant to all dirt, mud, and dust. SO go get yourself real dirty cause even if you can’t see the time from all the filth you got yourself into, your watch will still be working. Pricing and Availability TBD
FROGMAN, probably pretty obvious from the name, FROGMAN is meant for those who are Scuba divers or others who plan at least 200 meters worth of diving. You may get all prune like and soaked and tired but your watch will just keep tick/tocking along. Pricing and Availability TBD
Commemorating their 25th Anniversary, two new watches were released in May. The new GWM5625E-7 and GW225E-7 models are both white and feature the classic designs of the original G-SHOCK model of yesteryear with a few more bells and whistles. The GWM5625E-7 will retail for $150 and the GW225E-7 will retails for $350.
Heirs to the Thrown
Finally 4 new models were introduced that are more colorful and substantially more stylish than the original G-Shock from the early 80’s. Coming in the colors white, red, pink, and yellow, these new heirs to the G-Shock throne will spice things up with their vibrant colors and trendy designs. Perfect for those hipsters and females who dig G-Shock durability. Pricing and Availability TBD.
Overall the event was really exciting and showcased what Casio has in store for us this year and beyond. They are certainly looking forward to pushing G-Shock for another 25 yrs. A focal point of the event was of course Kanye and how he was going rock the house. We waited for over 2 hours for him to show and eventually gave up. Perhaps he left his G-Shock at home.
My Sports Clock is an Alarm Designed to Throw At the Wall
May 9, 2008
Maybe it’s just me but when the alarm goes off in the morning, my first instinct is to throw the clock across the room. My Sports Clock is an alarm clock that is actually meant to be thrown, it will even bounce. It’s got a unique action sensor that turns off the alarm when you toss it. My Sports Clock is available in a choice of Football, Baseball, Basketball, Golf and Soccer designs. And it would make a pretty neat not Father’s Day Gift.
MP3 Player Alarm Clock with Video Support
April 29, 2008
Once and awhile we come across something from our Chinese neighbors that isn’t just a knock off and is pretty worthwhile. We can’t guarantee how well it’s made or if it sounds any good but this device looks cute. The 2.0 Inch TFT Screen MP3 Radio + FM ( what a catchy name….) has just what it says and it works as an alarm clock, has a built-in speaker, and a 1GB storage capacity, as well as MP3, WMA, and AVI video support. It is also expandable via a SD/MMC expansion slot. For $88.00 it may seem pricey for something from an unknown company but its a pretty unique device, as there aren’t that many dedicated MP3 player / Alarm Clocks out there.
Philip Stein Watches May Ease your Stress and More
April 29, 2008
I love watches, I can’t pass buy a watch counter or Tourneau without popping in to see what latest editions from Raymond Weil, TAG Heuer, or Cartier. However until recently I never heard of Philip Stein Luxury Watches. Not only are they pretty to look at, they will make you feel good and not by just wearing them. Based on frequency technology or what they call “Teslar Technology” that turns negative energy received through everyday stress and electronic pollution into something calming for a better peace of mind and overall better health. There are testimonials on the site saying how this watch saved their life. I love watches more than anyone but I can’t imagine it making me feel better, other than it would look pretty nice on my wrist. Available in a lots of different styles, wrist band colors, etc…check it out, you may actually not feel anxious the next time you look at your wrist for the time.
Alarm Clocks Disquised as Retro Home Appliances Sport Special Tricks
April 14, 2008
What happens when you get your home appliances all confused? You end up with a cute, albeit silly selection of alarm clocks modeled after classic home appliances. Homeade has designed a bunch of alarm clocks like a retro 60s refrigerator, a blender, an iron, a washer, and a stove. Each appliance has its own quirky set of features. For example, the blender really spins. “When the brownies are done it doesn’t just go ding it shreds, dices, liquefies, and plays an assortment of 1970s game show jingles at the same time.” Meanwhile the stove also has a calendar display, a 4 alarm music with vibration feature and incoming call lighting - though it doesn’t specify exactly how that works, and the iron can connect to an Mp3 player as a speaker. February 20, 2008
When you wake up late for work just tell your boss you forgot to water your clock. Princess: Amazing Water Clock is completely energized by water. Just pour some water into the backside of the clock and it will display time, month, and the date. There is an energy converter built in to convert water into steady electric currents to power the clock. It comes in translucent blue so it’s pretty as well. From the image supplied it looks like you can stick a flower into it too. So not only is it a clock but a flower pot as well. What more could you ask for! [Read more]
Sonic Boom Sweetheart Alarm Clock Isn’t all That Sweet
February 5, 2008
Here we go again another alarm clock…no it has no dock or MP3 capabilities for a change. This is just a good ol’ alarm clock that will shake you right out of bed. The Sonic Boom Sweetheart is from the same company who brought you the Sonic Bomb alarm clock. It has pulsating alert lights and it’s LED is the color of the rainbow. For some, the fact that it’s shaped like a big pink heart might be endearing but it just shows there is a thin line between love and hate…especially when it’s an earth shattering alarm clock. January 29, 2008
I have never been a fan of alarm clocks. They are just nasty little boxes that make noise at 7am and remind you its time to get up to go to work. Well the Alfie iPod Audio System is looking to put the sexy back in alarm clock radios. Not just your typical morning noise maker, Alfie is a beautiful piece of equipment that you may want to think twice about before smashing the snooze. Lego Star Wars Watches You’ll Want to Wear, Even If You’re Over 30
January 15, 2008
I love watches - I’m a total watch fanatic and if I pass by a timepiece store I have to go in. So what true geek at heart wouldn’t totally love the The Lego Star Wars Clone Trooper Watch or R2 D2 version. Both watches resemble the VERY popular Star Wars Lego games. Since that franchise has become so big, people can’t get enough of legos or any lego looking Star Wars Character. The watch links are made of plastic which can un-snap to adjust to your wrist size and is water-proof by 50M. For every R2-D2 watch there is mini figurine that comes along with it, as well as for the Clone Trooper version. [Read more]

As if digital photo frames weren’t enough, now we have this sorta cool photo frame/alarm clock combo. The frame holds 50 photos and comes with a kind of measly 64MB of flash memory. Time Does Not Stand Still
October 9, 2007
Some people out there must have a lot of time on their hands, but if they didn’t we’d never find cool and wacky stuff like this online. Billy Chasen put together a live clock using images of people doing acrobatics in order to form numbers. He found the images on another blog and then put together the strange clock which even includes seconds. So the next time you ask what time is it? It’s a quarter back-split to 9. (Thanks, Carolynne)
Jukebox Lamp Doubles as iPod Charger and Alarm Clock
October 3, 2007
We’ve seen many Jukebox’s that double as ipod docks, but this mini-jukebox isn’t just a jukebox and an ipod dock, it’s also a lamp and an alarm clock, an FM radio, and it has speakers for playing your tunes out of. All of that makes it a pretty useful gadget for something so cute. The Jukebox Lamp and iPod Charger retails for $99 at BrookStone.
