Cellphonist Tutorial Videos Teach You How To Use Your Mobile
May 6, 2008
If I had a penny for every time my mother asked me to show her how to use a feature on her cell phone, well then i’d certainly have a lot of pennies. From now on I’ll see if I can get away with sending her over to Cellphonist. Cellphonist is a web site that is dedicated to free video tutorials of how to use many different cell phones and their features. They have a large selection of different phones from different providers and they should be adding more and more. Need to teach grandma how to use the speakerphone on the Motorola Razr? Or how to check her voicemail? Send her a link to the Cellphonist. And luckily, no sign up is necessary to use the Cellphonist and the tutorials are pretty straightforward.
Floral Motorola H680 Bluetooth is Stylish and Frosty
May 5, 2008
While we’ve seen many companies come out with feminine headsets, this is the first truly feminine headset we’ve seen from Motorola outside of making headsets simply come in pink. The Motorola H680 has a floral pattern covering it and it isn’t even pink - it’s “frost”. It’s got a 8 hour battery life for talk time, it comes with multiple ear cushions to get the right fit, and it also comes with a charging case, travel charger and carrying case. The H680 retails for $69.
Hello Kitty Solar Power Charger to Use With Your HK Cell Phone
May 2, 2008
We’ve seen many Hello Kitty phones over the years, some ugly, some decent and some just way too expensive. If you got yourself one of them then you might want to get this Hello Kitty Solar power charger to use with it. The device can also work to charge your MP3 player, camera or PDA (not that anyone uses those things anymore) via a USB port. No sunshine around? You can also charge up the device via DC power which will provide you with one hour of juice, but sunlight will give you up to 6 hours. Unfortunately, the Hello Kitty Solar Power Charger costs a whopping $159.99, yeh, what did you expect from a Sanrio licensed product.
AOL MyMobile Beta for Smartphones Rips Off Yahoo Go 3.0, But Who Cares
April 25, 2008
In an effort to keep their email users from leaving, AOL has released a cool new software app for smartphones called AOL MyMobile Beta. Compatible with most popular Windows Mobile devices, like the Blackjack II, it lets you access AIM, AOL Mail, Mapquest, AOL pictures, AOL Cityguide, Moviefone, your AOL contacts, and the weather all via a neat and organized app. Did we say neat? It’s actually very familiar - they no doubt took cues from Yahoo Go 3.0 which lets smartphones users access Yahoo popular services like Yahoo Mail, Flickr, etc, using a similarly styled interface. Both Yahoo Go 3.0 and AOL MyMobile are currently in Beta and have some kinks to work out, but they are must haves being free and all - especially if you are a Yahoo Mail or AOL mail user that has a compatible Windows Mobile Device. However our guess is that Yahoo Go 3.0, being a 3rd incarnation, is probably the superior app. Anyway, this gets us thinking - forget Microsoft buying Yahoo, we want AOL & Yahoo to merge so we can have the best of all of their free services meshed together.
VEPTU the VERTU Knock-off Sports Diamonds But We’re Skeptical
April 24, 2008
Would you like a VEPTU phone? No, no I didn’t spell that wrong, I know, you think I’m saying VERTU… Well I’m not. So here we go again with that old saying that imitation is the best form of flattery. The VEPTU is a luxury mobile cell phone that looks awfully like the VERTU by Nokia. The company is based in China, gee what a shock. The VEPTU looks distinctly like the VERTU in design and is supposedly gold plated in 18 or 24 carat (I’m sure they mean carrots). There is even a model with diamonds. It has all the typical bells and whistles of any average cell phone these days but the one thing it does lack is the concierge service VERTU offers their customers. [Read more]

Personal Pocket Translator Looks like a Blackberry but Isn’t
April 20, 2008
From far you may think this is a pretty old looking Blackberry. But no it’s not its actually, it’s a Personal Pocket Size Translator that translates up to 6 languages: English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. It will also supply you with the local date of where you are, a calculator, and the exchange rate. For $19.99 this is a steal and certainly worth it when you go to London and wonder why that tea just cost you $25 American dollars. On an side note, I think the on-line store selling this device could have used it themselves when they spelled “Personal Pocket Translator - 6 Languges” wrong on their product page.

SkullCandy is a connoisseur when it comes to making headphones and bags that are hip but very techie. Their latest LINK Hydro Pack is a neat backpack that uses their LINK technology that lets users listen to music while making phone calls through headphones or speakers located right on the straps of the backpack. The Link Hydro Pack retails for $149.95 and is available in grey/orange or camp. For those of you who are more of a pink bag type, check out the somewhat similar Link Fashion Pack - however it’s not as rugged and doesn’t let you sip and go.
Bluetooth Headset Displays Caller ID So you can Reject Phone Calls Easily
April 16, 2008
We aren’t really sure about the quality of the item but it seems preety sleek and a good concept. The Caller ID Stereo Bluetooth Headset will let you answer calls wirelessley and its OLED display will show you the number that is calling you. On top of that, it also supports A2DP bluetooth so that you can listen to music on your phone wirelessly. Right on the device there are Play, Pause, Stop, Prev, Next, Rewind/ Fast Forward, Volume Up/Down controls for controlling your music. While this is a neat headset most phones are small enough that carrying an extra accessory like this would seem pointless. However, if you have a smartphone which tend to be on the bulkier side, this headset might suit your purposes. [Read more]
