Microscopic Sculptures by Artist Willard Wigan

willard1 Microscopic Sculptures by Artist Willard WiganGood artwork always inspires awe in a viewer at the amount of talent that the artist had to posses to create that piece. Willard Wigan’s art inspires awe in us on an extremely tiny level. The British artist has sculpted micro-size forms using a tiny surgical blade to carve figures out of rice, fragments of grains of sand and sugar which are then mounted on pinheads. For color, he uses a hair plucked from a dead fly. Some of his work include a Malcom X figure on the head of a toothpick, a Santa Claus, Muhammad Ali, The Thinker , and Elvis Presley on a pinhead. Polly Pocket of the 90’s has got nothing on this guy. For more info on Wigan, check out his  Wikipedia entry.willard2 Microscopic Sculptures by Artist Willard Wigan
