November 30, 2006

Oh, those were the simple days. Take a walk down memory lane with this miniature joystick necklace. On sale now at Fred Flare for $7.99. Sound effects not included. -Leah Cheng
ATM Money Bank Replaces Your Piggy Bank
November 30, 2006

The ATM Money Bank stores your money like a traditional piggy bank would, but unlike an old fashioned piggy bank, you can securely access your money in the ATM Money Bank via a card and pin number. The ATM Money Bank further one-ups traditional coin banks with its built in computer which logs deposits and withdrawals so that you can keep on top of your balance. The money bank also accepts and identifies notes and coins, and it also lets you set a specific amount that you would like you to save up, and it will alert you once you’ve reached that amount. Best of all, there are no ATM surcharges or fees involved. The ATM Money Bank retails for £24.95 ($49 USD).

GLO to Sleep Aims to Turn Insomniacs in to Sleepyheads
November 30, 2006

Those who suffer from insomnia know how horrible a feeling it is to not be able to sleep, especially knowing you have a full day of work or school the next day. Before you try sleeping pills, GLO to Sleep sounds like a promising drug free alternative. The theory behind GLO to Sleep is that insomnia is caused by an overactive mind so in order to make you fall asleep, the solution is to turn off your mind. GLO to Sleep has glowing bars inside of its sleep mask which somehow cause you to fall in to the relaxed alpha wave state and eventually in to dreamland. GLO to Sleep retails for $59.46.
T-Mobile Customers Now Unofficially Have Free Unlimited Internet Data
November 30, 2006

Maybe we’re slapping ourselves by posting about this, but this development is too cool not to talk about. Members over at HowardForums are reporting that they are receiving unrestricted internet data use via the $5.99 T-zones plan, and many users are also saying that they’re also getting unrestricted data with no data plan at all attached to their account. So basically it seems as if T-mobile has temporarily pulled off all of their proxy restrictions, effectively allowing customers to have a data plan comparable to their $29.99 unlimited internet plan.
Is this too good to be true? Will it last? There are all sorts of conspiracy theories running around for as to why this might be happening. Some people think that that this is T-mobile’s way of tricking people in to removing their $29.99 unlimited data plan, and that then T-mobile will suddenly get rid of this freebie, and anyone who wants to add on the unlimited internet feature again will be encountered with a new higher rate. This scenario doesn’t sound totally crazy. For now, I’m keeping my $29.99 internet plan on my account. But for all you other freebie grabbers, enjoy it while it lasts, and we certainly hope it does.
Jabra BT125 Bluetooth Headset Review
November 29, 2006

Jabra is fastidiously becoming one of the world leaders in providing
quality craftsmanship, technological innovation as well as stylishly-chic
creativity to it’s Bluetooth devices. And the Jabra BT125 Bluetooth
headset continues in that tradition. After spending a little more than a week
putting this device to the test, I was very pleasantly surprised. The initial set up of
the BT125 involved charging the unit for two hours and then pairing it with my
Black Berry 7105t which was a cinch using Jabra’s very intuitive one touch
set-up. Also, Jabra did an excellent job with the easy to read and understand
user manual. As a matter of fact, taking a few minutes to go through the
documentation answered all of my questions.
Also, I found that the
controls on the BT125 were easy to operate as well as navigate. The volume is
controlled on the side of the unit, and the on/off button and other functions
are controlled using the indicator (LED) light that sits on the center earpiece
of this headset. The detachable and adjustable ear hook is also a nice touch
because it comes right out of the ear piece and can be inserted for one to wear
either on the left or the right ear, and the movable ear hook swivels all the way
around, thus, allowing one to comfortably position the headset. Weighing
only a mere 1/2 an ounce, this headset feels super light on my ear. Also, all
incoming and out-going calls are very clear and crisp via the headset, and the
volume control provided more than enough volume for when I use the headset
in a loud environment such as a shopping mall.
Aigo’s F006A MP3 Player with an Ornamental Design
November 29, 2006

Aigo’s F006A MP3 Player resembles the 1st gen shuffle, but unlike the shuffle, it’s colored black and it has an ornamental design running over it. The F006A plays MP3 and WMA files, has a voice recording function and a 5 mode equalizer. Nothing ground breaking but we think its cool because it’s pretty. And unfortunately, chances are you won’t be able to find this MP3 Player anywhere but in Asia, so don’t set your heart on it.

The Inflatable Steam Sauna
November 29, 2006

A sauna might be a great place to go to let off some steam (Sorry, we couldn’t resist). But most of us don’t enjoy sharing a sauna with a bunch of greasy strangers. The Inflatable Steam Sauna is the most affordable way to have your own private sauna, wherever you want it and when you want it. However, this is definitely not something for those who get claustrophobic. The inflatable steam sauna is capable of reaching 160 degree fahrenheit inside its durable rubberized canvas body with a waterproof rubber floor. The Inflatable Steam Sauna retails for £139.00 ($271 USD).

Sager’s NP6260 2.8 Pound Affordable Ultraportable Laptop
November 28, 2006

The Sager NP6260 ultraportable laptop manages to cram a 12.1" screen and DVD burner in to a chassis that weighs just 2.8lbs. The laptop sports a 1.2GHZ Core Solo processor, FireWire, a media card reader,
fingerprint reader, 3 USB 2.0 ports, a PCMCIA type II card slot and it can
be expanded with up to 1.5GB of ram. The 12 inch screen isn’t widescreen, and we wish that the NP6260 was a bit more stylish, but its price tag makes you want to give it a second look since it is one of the few sub 3 pound notebooks that retails for less than $1500. The laptop is available in 2 configurations, a $1280 config that includes a 1 year warranty, 512mb of ram and a 80GB hard drive, and a pricier $1,637 config that comes with 1GB of ram, a 100GB hard drive, and a 3 year warranty. In case you’re digging this laptop but are a bit weary about the quality of the company behind it, Notebook Review has a positive review of the NP6260.
Laptop Mag Hits the Streets of the Bronx with the Samsung K5
November 28, 2006

Boom boxes are a staple of the 80s and 90s that are hard to forget. The guys over at Laptop Magazine decided to hit the streets whilst pimping out 2007’s version of the boom box - the lovely and tiny Samsung K5. Unfortunately, they didn’t seem to get any ooohs and ahhs like we did back in the day with our four by two CD and cassette player. Kudos to them for having the guts to try and start a new trend, but praise the lord for those little white ear buds, because thanks to them, the days of loud and obnoxious music outside your window are gone for good.
Hello Kitty Slot-Loading DVD Player
November 27, 2006

The pink DVD player will play back DVD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 and HDCD discs and it has a fluorescent on-screen display. Unlike it’s overseas counterparts, the Hello Kitty DVD player retails for a reasonable $89.99
USB Digital Bible Keychain
November 27, 2006

We can see in to the future. You’re on the road, it’s late, so you stop at a motel to rest for the night. Being the good guest that you are, you check through the drawers to see if there are any Days Inn pens, pads, or other memorabilia. In one of the drawers you discover a Bible, but not the hard-cover-made-from-trees kind that you are used to. Instead there is a USB Digital Bible in your drawer.
This scenario isn’t so far fetched because David Steele has USB Digital Bible Keychains for sale. These USB keychains look like a mini version of a tradition bible and they come complete with the King James Translation of the Holy Bible. There is also a sliding switch on the back of the the USB drive that slides out in order to expose the USB interface plug. We can’t help but wonder how much megabytes this thing has… not that we would ever consider erasing the Bible files to make room for our own.
But anyway, we think these keychains are really cute. How about making other versions with the Torah or Koran on them? We’d love it if they started publishing e-books on keychains. Maybe they could throw in extra content like audio files and pictures? But in the meantime we have the USB Digital Bible Keychain which retails for $29.99.
