IYHY.com Formats Any Web Site for your Mobile

September 30, 2006

Operamobilelg
IYHY.com is a handy site for people who browse a lot with their PDA or cell
phone, because if you do browse the web with your PDA or cell phone, then you know
that many sites won’t work on those little things. So from now on when you encounter a site
that won’t load correctly or LOAD up at all, head to IYHY.com and input the web
site address that you are trying to reach. IYHY will load up the site quickly.
Unfortunately, it removes all the images from the site. However, it’s still a
handy tool to know about.

Say GoodBye to GPS and hello to W-Track A-GPS

September 29, 2006

MinigpsOkay, not really. However, New Scientist claims that in the year 2011, violent solar activity will disrupt GPS satellite navigation. Apparently, GPS recievers are highly senstitive to the radio noise produced by solar flares that arise by explosions in the sun’s atmosphere. When solar activity peaks in 2011, it could potentially cause widespread
disruption to  emergency location systems that
rely on satellite navigation data.
What does this mean for you? Don’t just jump off the GPS navigation wagon. Instead, take it for what it is and ride out the tide. Starting with this, W-Track A-GPS, an extremely neat A-GPS device. This tiny, and I mean tiny (65mm x 43mm x 28mm)  real-time GPRS connected GPS tracking device gives you an unprecedented view of your subjects activities. It refreshes every 15 seconds for god-sakes!

To all you smarties out there: the razor and keys are NOT included. Although, for $699,  I don’t see why not. - Natalie Mayslich

SpecTec’s MicroSD Card with Wifi

September 29, 2006

Sandiskfinger
Just a few years ago I remember how cool I thought it was when I bought a
compact flash wifi adapter for my ipaq. I marveled at how they managed to fit
wifi into such a tiny little card. Then Secure Digital cards became more
prevailant and some company came out with an SD card with wifi built in. Once
again, I marvelled at this new feat of technology. Some time later I got my
first smartphone with a mini SD slot. When i discovered that there was a miniSD
card with wifi, I could barely believe that it was true. Surely, nothing could
get smaller then these miniSD cards… and to fit wifi into one? How did they do
it?
MicrosdwifiA few weeks ago I got myself the Samsung i320n Windows Smartphone, which
I am in love with by the way. I ordered a MicroSD card for it. When it arrived i
almost choked when i saw the chicklet sized MicroSD card that managed to fit
1Gig inside of it. For the hell of it I decided to google "MicroSD with wifi", and lo and behold I dicovered that Spectec has MicroSD cards with 802.11b/g. I am
speechless. Then again in a world where RFID chips are the size of a piece of
rice, should anything amaze me anymore?

TrackItBack Recovers your Lost Gadgets

September 28, 2006

TrackitbackIf only I had a penny for every time I found a cell phone left behind in a cab. I take that back, if only I had a $100 for every time I found a cell phone left behind in a cab, then I could afford a quarter of my monthly Manhattan rent…. well, not really.  Losing a gadget is one of the most irritating experiences, especially if the gadget has important data on it or it was just a very expensive toy. TrackItBack aims to cut down on your losses with its lost and recovery service. Attach the TrackItBack label to one of your gadgets, and if someone finds your lost device, they can call you or go online where they can find instructions for how to return it to you.  There are many different sticker packs, each made suitable for different devices, whether it be an iPod or a RaZr. These label packs retail for an average of $12.99. They also have more decorative labels as apart of their fun packs, the fun packs retail for $14.95.

September 27, 2006

Shopping online for bargains is addictive. I check SlickDeals, Fatwallet,
Ben’s Bargain’s and TechBargains almost daily. Trezr is a newcomer to the fold,
its somewhat Digg’esque site features links posted by its users, of the best sale
and discounted items from around the web. However, unlike most other bargain
searching sites, Trezr’s focus isn’t just on tech, but it has a heavy emphasis on fashion and lifestyle
bargains.

Olympus WS-320M USB Digital Voice Recorder also Functions as a Music Player

September 25, 2006

Olympusws320
Digital voice recorders have never been the kind of gadget that elicits ooohs and ahhs. However, Olympus’s WS-320M might impress a few of your friends, especially if they are geeks. That is because the WS-320M is not only a voice recorder, it’s also a music player with SRS/WOW that plays WMA and MP3 files off of its 1GB of internal flash memory. Ok, that might not be so unusual, but what is especially cool about the WS-320M is that has a design that plugs directly into a USB port, so that it also functions as a USB mass storage device. The WS-320M also has a high quality built-in stereo microphone, an LCD that displays tracks and artist names, and it runs for up to 15 hours on a triple A battery. Olympus’s WS-320M retails for $165.63 at Amazon.com where it has garnered some very positive reviews from customers.

We like its design, but from its photo alone we can’t tell where its controls are. The PMP7040 retails for $329.95 at B & H Photo and Video.

Live Like a High Roller with Reel Deal Casino Game

September 21, 2006

Casino_champ_2 Go from rags to riches with Phantom’s Reel Deal Casino - High Roller. Alright, so the riches aren’t exactly real and chances are, you aren’t in rags. However, enough practice and time spent with this software and you just might strike it big when it comes to the "real deal".

I must admit that I’m not a gambler so any comparison that I make will be based primarily on inference. For those like me, each of the 38 games on this 2 disk software package comes with a small instructive tutorial; I found it to be very useful. For the more advanced player - a decent sized manual details strategies, payouts and odds for each of the games. That said, I must admit the games themselves are not terribly challenging.

Games included are: Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow, Single 21, Big Six, Oklahoma 3 Card, Keno, Big Raise Hold ‘Em, Baccarat, Four Card Poker, Sic Bo, Triple Shot Bonus, 6-5-4 Poker, Bingo, Hardway Blackjack, Dragon Bonus Baccarat, Red Dog, Let it Ride, Crazy 4 Poker, Face-Up 21, High Five Poker, Casino War, Catch a Wave, Big Four Stud, Pai Wow, Bonus plus both slot and poker machines.
