Sony’s Pink, Compact & Portable Speakers
April 27, 2006

There is an overhwelming selection of portable speakers out there to choose from, but this is the first pink one we’ve found that isn’t manufactured by a no-name company. The SRS-T33 compact portable speaker from Sony weighs just 12 ounces, with batteries included. It’s also magnetically shielded so that it won’t interfere with other electronics. In case you’re not crazy about pink coloring, the SRS-T33 is also available in blue or sliver. It’s currently selling on Amazon for $31 and has pretty positive reviews from people who purchased it and PC Magazine has a brief review as well. If you’re looking for a portable speaker, at this price, it’s worth a try .
X-Bike 1000 Excercise Bike that Feels Like the Real Thing
April 27, 2006

The X-Bike 1000 is an excercise bike that works your entire body. Its
handlebars move from side to side, makeing you feel as if you’re actually
riding a non-stationary bike. The bike also has seven levels of resistance that
will help strenthen your arms. It’s a bit pricey at $1699, but Lance Armstrong
uses one of these, and if it’s good enough for him to train on, then it’s good
enough for us.
Always-On Push E-mail For Ordinary Folk
April 25, 2006

What exactly is Push E-mail? Push E-mail is E-mail that comes right to your mail box as soon as it ends up on the server. Blackberries became popular because of their Push E-mail feature, and now Windows Mobile Devices are growing in popularity because a recent service pack offers Push E-mail functionality as well. However, in order to take true advantage of the push e-mail feature you need to have an e-mail account on a Microsoft Exchange server. Microsoft Exchange servers are very costly to maintain, so generally only larger sized companies have them. But what if you’re not part of a large company that will give you an Exchange e-mail account to use on your Windows Mobile Phone? There are a few companies, such as 4Smartphone.net that offer personal exchange email accounts for a fee. Recently, Mail2Web began offering a Free Microsoft Exchange e-mail account which includes mobile access to your mail. But if you want true Mobile Push E-mail you’ll need a Blackberry or a Windows Mobile 5.0 device with the latest service pack update. But what if you don’t have either of these devices?
We’ve finally discovered a service that offers Push E-mail for many other popular mobile phones. For a reasonable price of $49.95, Always-On Mail software is set to bring Push E-mail to average folk. Sixty-Phones has a review of the service, and it sounds very enticing and worth checking out if you’ve been looking for a way to get Push E-mail on your phone.
iPod Shirts & the iPod Jacket
April 24, 2006

Thomas Pink’s "The Commuter" iPod Tie, is an awesome way of wearing your ipod Nano or Shuffle, but what if you’re a casual guy that can’t stand wearing ties? Lucky then that Thomas Pink has come out with an iPod shirt as well. It’s a 100% button down shirt that is available in blue and white. It has a special concealed pocket to hide your mp3 player and hidden casing for headphone wires, and there is even a cuff pocket for storing away credit cards.
This shirt is pretty cool… but it makes us ladies feel left out. Fortunately we’ve discovered an iPod shirt and jacket for women from Vickerey. The iPod Jacket comes in black, Seabreeze (light pink), wine (purple), calipso (cyan) and steel (blueish grey?). It retails for $96.00. The iPod shirt also retails for $96.00. It comes in grass (green), Neon Red, and Blush. Both the iPod Jacket and iPod shirt have a pocket for your iPod located on the left sleeve.
The All-in-one Wash Dry Iron Machine
April 23, 2006
The Wash Dry Iron is an example of convergence trend spreading to household appliances, it is an incredible machine that washes, presses, and irons your clothing all in the body of the same machine. It’s also energy efficient because it has a large detergent reservoir which will eliminate having to bulk-buy pricey powerball tablets. We’re also digging the design, it certainly beats the typical white and boxy- look that you see on most appliances. The Wash Iron Dry is expected to retail for 900 GBP (about $1,600 USD) (Source: T3 Magazine, April 2006)
Visteon’s Portable DVD Player Plays Game Boy Advance Games
April 23, 2006

Visteon’s Dockable Entertainment center might look like an ordinary portable DVD player, but it has the extraordinary ability of playing Game Boy Advance Games on its 10.2 inch screen. It will also play audio cds, and MP3 and WMA files. When we learned about this product at C.E.S., we thought that this was pretty cool… that was until we noticed the price. $1,500 for a $400 DVD player with the ability to play a $60 console, is absurd. It’s not even like it plays Nintendo DS games - maybe then the price would be a bit more justified. The DVD player will be available in May, but at this rate, we’ll add this gadget to the list of toys only Richie Rich can afford to splurge on.
Cat Stickers that Boost Your Cellular Reception
April 21, 2006
Don’t ask me to explain how a mere sticker can supposedly boost your cellphone reception. I am not even sure if it works at all, but it sure is darn cute. The Magic Painting Sticking Film retails for $6.95. -Leah Cheng
The Split Personality Hela Perific Wireless Dual Mouse
April 21, 2006

The Hela Perific Wireless Dual Mouse suffers from a split personality because it can be used as a standard desktop mouse, but it also has a trackball, and it can also be used as a wireless pointing device for presentations. On top of all that, it is ergnomically designed to stare you clear of pesky hand cramps. It retails for about $120 USD, but there is also a cheaper corded version if you are strapped for cash.
PRIE Jewel Clip Doubles as Cable Winder
April 18, 2006

I love my mp3 player, but I constantly get frustrated by how easily my ear phones wires get tangled. There are a few cable winders out there that would solve this problem, but until now none have them have tempted me. However, The PRIE jewel clip doesn’t look like most cable winders. With its heart shape and rhinestone studded exterior it will blend on you as a fashion piece that will fool most people. The jewel clip is available in white and pink, and can also be attached to a key chain. Unfortunately, we think its price of $49.95 is a bit high, but at least you’re almost certain to impress people with it.
Webaroo Helps You Download Portions of the Internet on to Your Computer or PDA
April 18, 2006

Webaroo is a new service that lets you surf the web even if you are off line. All you have to do is download their free software and you’ll then be able to download large portions of the internet on to your laptop or PDA. They even have "web packs" which allow you to choose a specific subject category for web sites that you would like to have on your hard drive, because it would of course be near impossible to download every page for every subject there is on the web.
iSquint, the Best iPod Video Converter Ever, and it’s Free
April 17, 2006

Once in a while we come across free software that is so good, it is hard to
believe that it is freeware. iSquint, an iPod video converter for Mac, is one
of those amazing freebie programs. Don’t let its non-existant price tag fool
you, iSquint works much faster then QuickTime Pro as well as many other iPod
video convertor software programs that we have tried. It futher one-ups Quick Time Pro
by being able to convert DIVX/Xvid AVIs, and all forms of MPEG video. And it does
batch processing of multiple files, and supports most popular formats including
.mov .mp4 .avi .dv .mpg .vob .3gp .asf .wmv .flv and .m4v. Last but not
least, it is also very simple to use. Our only complaint is that they
currently don’t make a Windows version of iSquint, but we shant complain much
more since it is free.
The USB Bra
April 16, 2006

USB connectors have been turning up everywhere these past few months - on beverage chillers, plastic frogs, and other unusual places. In recognition of this trend, a bunch of industrial designers got together and created an exhibit chock full of eccentric places to put a USB connector. They placed USB connectors on hand cuffs, a door handle, a lock, a bra, a sink, and on a bunch of other items. Who knows, maybe one day USB connectors will actually show up on a lot of these items. April 12, 2006

Novatel USB 870 EVDO Modem on its Way
April 10, 2006

One of the big news stories at CTIA this past week was that Novatel will becoming out with a EVDO Express card this May. This is exciting news for MacBook Pro owners who want to take advantage of EVDO. Unfortunately, the news doesn’t cheer up Powerbook or iBook owners who are also very limited when it comes to high-speed cellular options. According to EVDOinfo, Novatel is working with Sprint on a USB EVDO Modem that will be Windows and Mac OS X compatible. The modem will be directly attachable via its USB connector or via a USB cable. According to EVDO info, a USB modem connected to a USB cable which is placed about 12 inches away from your computer, will pump out better performance then a PCMCIA, ExpressCard or embedded EVDO device. Overall, the idea of a USB modem is really appealing, even if you’re not a laptop owner. Unlike a PC card, you can theoretically swap your USB modem from computer to computer without much hassle. We’re sold.
ScanR Lets You Send Paper Faxes from Your Cell Phone
April 10, 2006

Have you ever been out and needed to fax a paper document, but the only electronic device on you is your cell phone? It has happenned to me countless times, and usually results in me running home or heading to the nearest Kinkos. ScanR might be the solution to this pretty common inconvenience; it lets anyone with a 1.3 Megapixel or better, fax documents via their cell phone. All you have to do is snap a picture of the document, e-mail it too doc@scanr.com, and put the fax number in the text body. ScanR will send you a confirmation text message once the fax has been sent. In case you are skeptical, they are currently offerring a free trial.
Unfortunately, many people don’t have a camera phone with a 1.3 megapixel camera. But higher megapixel camera phones are becoming more and more widespread, especially with Windows Mobile Handsets. Five years from now this sort of service will probably be as common place as receiving a fax by e-mail, but for the meantime this is a pretty a cool novelty to discover.

Found a video on YouTube, iFilm or GoogleVideo that you would like to keep for your self? KeepVid.com allows you to save the video to your hard drive by simply copying and pasting the URL of the video on to their site. However, you will need an FLV player to play the video back. Magpie iPod Outfit Review & Win It!
April 7, 2006

With its floral design patterns, Magpieâs iPod âOutfitâ is an unusual Nano case. As a result, the Magpie iPod Outfit doesn’t feel like
just a case, it really does fit the description of an “outfit”.
The Nano slips
in to the case from the bottom of the case, and is almost completely protected except for a
hole on the bottom right of the case which allows you to plug in headphones. The
case also has a built-in screen protector and scroll wheel protector. Even the
hold button is protected with see-through plastic, which is very wise
considering all it takes is one piece of dirt to fall in and leave scratch
marks on your Nano.
