Sok Bathtub Changes Colors to Relax You
February 24, 2006

The Sok effervescent bath from Kohler utilizes chromatherapy to help relax you. So what exactly is Chromatherapy? It’s a popular holistic method that uses the power of color to create emotional impact. The Sok bath was designed specifically around the concept of chromatherapy; with the touch of a button, the bath’s environment changes color via four LED light ports positioned within the inner walls of the bath. Each color is displayed for about eight seconds. The cycle begins with a neutral white light, followed by three cool and relaxing colors - purple, indigo and aqua blue, then green as the balancing color, and the cycle concludes with three warm stimulating colors - yellow, orange, and red. Pricing for the bath begins at around $8999. Worse comes to worst, if it doesn’t actually relax you, at least the colors are pretty.

Sound Therapy Eye Mask Connects to your IPod or other Digital Audio Player
February 21, 2006

The Sound Therapy Eye Mask is akin to the iPillow we posted about last week. It’s made of a soft velour covering with soft foam cushions inside. We tried it out ourselves and it really is as comfortable as it looks. The eye mask has five built-in sounds to relax you; a country evening sound, a babbling brook, chirping songbirds, ocean surf, and soothing white noise. An included audio input jack on the mask allows you to access and listen to music from your IPod, MP3 player, CD player or other music device - making it a useful tool for drowning out the sounds coming from noisy roommates, a long with the sight of them. The eye-mask has a 30-minute automatic shut-off so that you can fall asleep without having to worry about wasting its batteries. It retails for $40.00 at BrookStone.
u-Link Adapter Adds old iPod Add-ons to the Ipod Nano
February 21, 2006

Battery Technology has created the u-Link, an adapter that allows you to plug most of the old headphone accessories that you used with your 3G and 4G Ipods or Ipod Mini, into your Ipod Nano. Lucky we caught this post in time, as I was just about to dump my old Ipod remote for the new remote with FM radio. Unfortunately, the popular Griffin iTalk and Belkin Voice Recorder still won’t work with the new iPods, even with the u-Link adapter. However, the good news is that you shouldn’t dump all of your old iPod accessories just yet. (Source: the Register)

70 Year Old Grandma is a Hardcore Videogamer
February 20, 2006

It always upsets me when someone half my age beats me at a video game, but I’ve never really considered that someone more then three times my age would be able to. Meet 70 year old Barbara St. Hillaire, who isn’t just a video gamer - she is a darn good one. She has been playing video games for 25 years, has beaten Resident Evil 4 three times, and currently plays other hardcore PS2, Xbox and GameCube games. She also works as a videogame correspondant for MTV.com’s game show G-Hole. What do her senior citizen peers think about her lifestyle? "They think I’m sort of weird," she says. "Most of them don’t approve of the cussing. They don’t think it’s ladylike. They think I should be sitting in a rocking chair, waiting to die." Rock on Grandma!
You can check out more about Old Grandma Hardcore at her blog written by her grandson, or you can watch a clip about her from MTV.com. (Source: Electronic Gaming Monthly)

Q-Link Pendants Help Increase Your Energy Levels
February 19, 2006

The Q-link pendant claims to help increase your energy levels, improve your sports performance, help minimize jet-lag, reduce stress and even reduce the harmful effects caused by EMFs - the fields emitted around cell phones and other electronics. We’re skeptical about these claims, but if you’re willing to give a try at this whole Q-link gimmick, there are a few pendant styles available at TopGadget. There is a Silver Q-link pendant that retails for $321, a less ritzier pendant with a bevelled-edge triangle design for, and the $107 "classic" Q-link pendant - which has the SRT technology responsible for Q-link visible on the pendant.

Spy Cameras Hidden in Buttons & Screws
February 16, 2006

The XB-39 Eagleye Remote-Controlled Airplane with built-in digital camera seemed like a great spying tool, until we discovered an even better spying tool - a camera that disquizes itself as a button. The Button Camera conceals a color video camera inside an ordinary garment button. The button camera can be attached to a body worn recorder or a wireless receiver. After further research, we discovered another online store that has a wireless button camera - the BTR52. They also have another similar spy camera that disquizes itself as a screw - the SCWD20. So there ya go, more reasons to be paranoid in your everyday life.
Can a GSM Girl Make the Transition to Sprint’s CDMA World?
February 16, 2006

A few weeks ago I was invited to join Sprint’s Ambassador Program, which is a new program in which Sprint has handed out Samsung MM-A920 phones with 6 months of free service to certain bloggers. All they ask from us is that we please give them feedback about our experience - though it’s not required. Of course, this is a brilliant plan on Sprint’s part to get free publicity. I have to give them credit for acknowledging the impact of blogs. After all it seems like less and less people are reading magazines, and more and more are using blogs for news and reviews.
Here is a little background on my own cellular experience. I’ve been using GSM service since the early days of Voicestream. I love GSM service because of how easy it is to switch out your SIM card and buy a new phone, and thus I have never really been tempted to switch to CDMA. I did have a brief stint with Verizon when the Samsung i730 came out, but other then that I haven’t had much experience with a CDMA provider. So can a GSM girl be happy in the strange new world of CDMA?
