Dell brings the Samsung Q30 to the U.S.

X1_and_cd_314x314_1  A little while back I posted about the Samsung Q30 2.5 lbs laptop that I have been drooling over. I was frustrated because the Samsung Q30 wasn’t available in the U.S. unless you bought it from an importer like Dynamism. It must be that someone at Dell Computers took notice of my pain because today they released the Dell Latitude X1 which is exactly the Samsung Q30 but it’s Dell branded. The bad news is that Dell’s version is an ugly grey so it doesn’t come in a shiny red or black finishing like the Samsung’s Q30. The good news is that Dell’s version is a heck of a lot more affordable, starting at $1699 with a three year warranty. And I’m sure that Dell will soon enough have coupons and sales that will bring the price down even further. Dell made a really smart move by rebranding the q30 and making it affordable. I have to get one of these eventually, even if they are a really dull grey!
